I'm selling identical items and for the basic small ones, I want the postage to be something simple such as $2 for the first one, and 20c per extra one. The problem is, I can't get anywhere to change the cost per additional item and its becoming incredibly frustrating for me.
I used to sell about 10 years ago, and back then it was so easy to set the cost per extra item. I've tried the flat rate postage discounts, but even that hasn't changed anything for buyers, and I can't really use flat rate discounts across all items when the postage costs vary.
What makes it more frustrating is that most buyers completely ignore the message of "don't pay until an invoice is sent" and pay the huge postage amount which I'm refunding yet still copping the 10% ebay fee on the difference.
Is there a simple way to select the postage for each additional item on each listing?

To do it for just a single listing, the options should be available in the postage section - if you're not seeing this option, you might be in the basic listing tool so look for the link to switch to the advanced listing tools.
This particular discount only applies to that one listing, but you can also have multiple flat rate postage discounts set up under different profiles, and apply them to different listings. For example, say you have 10 listings where you only want to charge 20c extra per item, and they can all go at the same rate, you create one profile and apply to all of them so when someone buys from two different listings with that rule, the postage will automatically calculate at 20c extra per item as well.
Then, if you have 10 other listings where it has to be $5 per additional item, you create a different rule and only apply it to those ones.
Flat rate postage rules don't work across all items with a rule, so if someone buys an item that has the +$5 rule and a different item that has the +20c rule, the full P&H rate on each item will be charged, so it will only avoid having to issue an invoice etc when people buy items with the same rule.

I know how to do it in TurboLister, but not from the Sell Your Item page, sorry.
I know it is possible, but my items don't lend themselves to that type of postage so I've never explored it.
At least you're back at the top and somebody might be able to help you.
