i have a previous buyer selling one of my reborns that was purchased from me back in march this year. she has listed it as a NEW item and date of birth as december 2012 and though she has not claimed to have made it she has presented it in such a way on a template so that it appears she is the artist. i have sent her an email telling her that her listing is fraudulent and that i would report her if she did not remove it or adjust her listing. i intend to do this tomorrow if i do not see any changes or response from her but wanted to know ...does ebay block them if they see that they have posted a dishonest listing. am thinking of naming and shaming her by posting her item number and ebay id here as well as a warning to others?? she paid $350 for her, has had her for 9 months. listed her as new and is asking for $525 on buy it now +$35 postage for a used item. maybe i should be flattered??? lol anyone else had this happen?

Doll location is Goulburn NSW-are we looking at same doll?
Yes, that is the one, with red tutu. I am sure that is the one, but I did not check the FB.

I have no doubt that the artist has spent many hours skillfully painting the doll - making sure it looks very life like.
Even the name, or category or what ever is creepy - REBORN!
Last I looked, we are all born once - that it - no second commings!
The term reborn comes from the time when people bought ordinary doll at K-mart, stripped the paint and then repainted it, hence it was born again. Not really applicable to those made from kits.
In any case, they are "craft" not an art. Art has some message, meaning. Not to mention that people who buy them kid themselves if they think that these dolls will have appreciating re-sale value.

Westernstar-how come neither you nor the buyer left feedback for each other ?

Thanks for that super nova - but I'm done looking at them!
Seeing them all in line (various sellers) makes for some freaky zombie horror show - I'll be having nightmares tonight, I'm sure.
Being dead & alive all at the same time (that's how they look like to me) - reminds of some particularly scary horror movies with dolls from years ago!

I've never really liked dolls.. Their lifeless eyes that bore into your soul...
Has anyone seen Steiner dolls? They have no face!!!

Amish dolls have no face either.
Do you mean Steiner School type dolls?
They do some unusual things at those schools to make sure everyone is equal.

Yeah the Steiner school dolls.. They have eyes and mouth, but no emotion as they believe that the child should project the emotion on to the doll rather than the doll having one on their faces.
I had a look on a website for them, they are actually quit nice looking dolls, and the first one I have found that don't creep me out.

LOL bump, I just had a look at the Amish dolls!! We had one of those come into my work and I wondered why it had no face

As the thing was never born in the first place how is the reseller any more at fault than the OP just for giving that non event a different date?
All sellers of these things should have their listings removed for keyword spamming unless they have actually given birth to one of these things and that, I sincerely hope, will only ever happen in some new genre of horror movie!

LOL, well that is just one example how languages develop and words change meanings. Now the meaning of the word to "reborn" is to paint a doll, and DOB is the day it was finished. So if the re-seller of the OP's doll slapped bit more paint on it last week, it has been "reborn again" and its DOB is last week. Right? ๐
