i'm sure a lot or most of you probably received the managed payments email this morning. in case you didn't, or missed here - ebay is rolling out managed payments later in the year with pre-registration opening shortly.
more info is located at https://sellercentre.ebay.com.au/managed-payments

I have been selling for over 8 years.
Is everyone else getting the same message
โโThe buyer has already paid. Funds are being held temporarily while the payment is processed.โ
Or is it just me??
It's everyone.
But they also say awaiting postage on a different page, so that means to post the items.
Very confusing, but we're posting once the purchase shows as paid, and ignoring the "processing" notifications on different page.

So far I rate Managed Payments a 4 / 10, from my whole 2 and a bit days of being switched on, and that's just because it doesn't appear to be causing any issues on the buyer's side, AFAIK.
I sell pretty consistently, so I've had multiple sales since the morning of the 6th, and not one cent of the funds have moved from "pending" balance to "available" balance, so no payouts to my bank account can take place.
This is very slow compared to others. This is unlikely to cause too many problems for me personally, funds from eBay sales would accrue in my PayPal account and be used periodically to purchase stock and a few other expenses, so no major cashflow problems will arise if it takes a few business days for money to be transferable, but I'm certain it's going to cause problems for others, so this really needs to be addressed.
My other bug bear is items sold / payment notifications. Jeebus Christ, eBay - get it together. I am getting either no order / payment notifications, one, or two, depending on how the buyer checked out and paid, and even worse is the fact that most of my sales contain multiple items, but eBay does not send one email containing all order details. Best case scenario I get 10 "your item sold" emails for 10 products in an order, and one "your item sold" email, for just one of those items, after the order has been paid.
Super useful eBay, to not have a single email anymore, containing all order details, and which can be archived so that these details can be checked / verified at any time, even a couple of years later, which I do regularly. I do not want to keep 50+ emails a day, to try and puzzle together what was in someone's order some time later, if needed and details no longer available on eBay.

Sounds like it is going to be so much easier on the administration side ....NOT.
The only real plus that I can see is having more available payment methods
but all else is a whole bunch of minuses.
Oh if we were all truly one in purpose.
All ebay stores going into vacation mode with purchasing disabled for 24 hours
might get some attention.
Just not going to happen but it's a cheerful thought.

People don't have to be sheep though. Everyone fell into line and agreed to it

You're so peachy, with a generous helping of keen on the side.
Will you switch, when there is no choice in the matter, or will you abandon eBay all together?

Don't mistake my gripes for regret.
Seeing room for improvement does not mean I'm sitting here doing this, lol
At least, not over my choices.

My experience exactly mirrors digi's experience. In addition I am yet to see the promised "improved suite of reports".

I had same issue and called ebay to complain, they were "investigating" and would get back to me. 2 days later, nothing, but my listings counter stopped as soon as I complained.
Also, managed payments. Have had a discussion with ebay today and if you have opted for daily payments, don't expect to see them daily as this would suggest. It will take 2-5 business days to process the payments to your nominated account. Whereas if you opted for weekly, you will get paid to your account every Tuesday. This really seems almost the same to me if it can take up to 5 business days for the "daily" payment to come through.
