i'm sure a lot or most of you probably received the managed payments email this morning. in case you didn't, or missed here - ebay is rolling out managed payments later in the year with pre-registration opening shortly.
more info is located at https://sellercentre.ebay.com.au/managed-payments

Yep I received the same consistently inconsistent message as Digi. Once we go live with managed payments might be worth a new thread to focus on the new experience and any hickups.

As of this morning, when creating new listings the following message is being displayed in a dialogue box. The listing is still able to be created, however - just an extra click as part of the process.

Are all the sellers who are on eBay and offering PayPal lemmings, too? Cos, you know, all the same complaints being made about managed payments now, were made about PayPal being mandatory way back when.

It's only been around 18 years since eBay made PayPal a mandatory payment 'option'. It's great to see in 2020 with all the advances in technology that nothings changed from back then ?
That was precisely my point - that people were just as scared of change back then as they are now, and probably always will be. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Reading posts from people who have just been switched, and the "everything's different and I don't like it" freak out is interesting, but it's neither enlightening nor surprising.
Reading posts from people who have been on managed payments for over a year is far more insightful (some people have had cash flow problems due to delayed deposits - this is going to be the biggest problem for most, I'd say, but hopefully they are as rare as they are with PayPal, and some people have lost access to PayPal working capital loans, but a lot of people have no issues with it at all).
Given that a lot of us are running businesses and want as little interruption as possible, and the switch is both mandatory and inevitable, I find the dersision against those that bit the bullet and signed up to make sure everything was in its place, and any problems (eg with ID verification etc) dealt with before the deadlines given, kinda funny, especially when the ability to roll with the punches and embrace change is usually seen as a positive in business - or so this lemming has been told, anyways.

Where did you get the information that paypal has been mandatory for 18 years. I have been going for 15 years and it was an option when I started and maybe half the buyers used it but I honestly can't remember when it was compulsory.

I have been here for 14 years and the fight over paypal was still ongoing.....it was still not mandatory. I had plenty of reading to catch up on to find out what it was all about.
