Hi There. i have read 40 free listings apply to Non Business Sellers who don't exceed 100 transactions or $12000 in sales in a 12month period. How is that 12 moth period calculated,, ie is it a calendar year or just date to date? also are the 40 free listings re-instated once you drop below the 100 sales again? thanks

As far as I'm aware, the 40 free listings are available to all non-store sellers, regardless of sales volume or value.
Edit to add the excerpt and link from eBay's help page re: free listings:
"All sellers registered on eBay.com.au can take advantage of a set number of free listings available every month.
Standard fees
(no Store Package)
Up to 40 auction or Fixed Price"

I agree with DG.
I think you might be getting confused with the 3 automatic free listings.

As I just found out myself on the 1st of this month, it doesn't matter how many free relists are currently active, you are still provided with the full allocation of 40 free listings regardless, which is why I now have close to 72 active listings, with a sale last night and 2 free listings still left to use.
