Convinced that throttling is occuring..and it happens at a certain time for us..at around our billing cycle..just after our store invoice has been paid..when we start paying for extra listings..no sales..nothing..past 6 months same thing..then like many describe "the lights are turned back on" sales start happeneing..maybe this an approach Ebay uses to gouge more money from us...and like a You tube video we saw from a USA ebayer who argues you have a stretch of sales to keep your interest up and then..all of sudden nothing...it wasnt nothing like this about 3-4 years ago and this was on or close to the GFC...

I now no longer attempt to run a business here but still need extra dollars to make ends meet so am unfortunately stuck here attempting to flog every last household item in my possession .. I am doing this before the total collapse of the Australian economy due to the Chinese free trade agreement that Abbott stupidly signed Australia on to and am preparing to live in the bush and off the land with minimal possessions as can see no other alternative as the international corporations milk the Australain economy via the singapore swindle whereby they sell at a "loss or break-even" to China/singapore then buy back at a premium price through all manner of shelf companies .. all the while the government taps the public purse to build all manner of infrastructure for these international fly by night exploiters in short welfare for the mega rich tax dodging big end of town whilst pointing the finger for the problem towards the people least able to defend themselvesw from this onslaught of abuse ..
all this abhorrent behaviour and tax loopholes and flawed industrial relations policy and lack of protectionism has the multiple affect of generating no tax revenue for Australia, depleting our public purse whilst sending the remainder of our fiscal pool offshore all the while offshore contracted labour is being exploited thus Australians are becoming increasingly unwanted in the workforce ..
The writting is now on the wall and there can be no doubt these are the end days of prosperity in Australia .. there can be no doubt we are under attack!!! and will in all probabilty soon be put to toil enmasse at the end of a gun so as to assure the proftability of the international cabal of tax dodging multinationals and swiss bankers who are busy dividing and conquering so that they can lead a life of luxury and privaledge at the expense of entire nations of people whose governments are run by pathetic born to rule moron sleazebags ....
Yes I see a pattern in my sales too, I guess each account or category has their own on and off period? Mine used to be much like yours, except it was on at the start and end of the calendar month, with little in between. However, as I said a while ago, I firmly believe that eBay have recently introduced even further 'sanctions' against small selling accounts, perhaps to appease their big corporate partnerships with the big players? I believe they have 'cut' the old selling limits on each account to a new level, instinct says about 40-50% of the old figures? Perhaps one of the reasons they are doing away with traffic reports, what better way to hide the evidence. As I keep saying; sales are only one part of the evidence, watchers, views, enquiries, silly offers etc... are all evidence of being visible or not.
I agree entirely with the sentiment of the rest of your post! This is why I stated a few days ago that I also believe these new 'throttles' are a way of self correcting the flawed system, back in favour of the corporations/elite, or put a simpler way, taking away from the many to give to the few!
I share your dream! A tiny off grid self sufficent home whilst being almost completely independent of the system!!!

Well I was thinking more along the lines of a humpy hidden away on crown land thus I would be stealing fish and firewood and free rent from the Queen's royal coffers .. I will do this when I simply cannot aford to pay my bills and keep food on the table .. fairly close to that now .. this strategy is about survival and avoiding exploitation although am fairly sure that those of my generation will have a most indignant death as welfare for the poor will no doubt be abolished by the time I reach retirement age in favour of more welfare for the rich for their tax dodging negative geared wealth accrueing tax avoidance rorts .. I am not so deluded as to continue to pursue the Aussie dream as see it as a dodgy impossible dream aside from the lucky few .. good luck with getting off the grid ..

If you're going to hang out on some crown land in a humpy, can you find somewhere with 2 humpies? I would love nothing more than to escape civilisation. Ideally, I'd like to live somewhere where I need to pack a suitcase to go and buy groceries. As that would be too much of a hassle, being totally self sufficient would be the way I'd go.
I have an income and I have a mortgage, doesn't make me hate people any less. I don't have a need to be rich. I don't understand the obsession. I can't see the point in working myself to death, working 90+ hours a week to earn a fortune, like some people do. What is the point when you can't spend it, because you're either at work, or too tired to do anything? You certainly can't take it with you when you die. When we do die, we all end up in a box, so what is the point in flogging yourself to death?
My sales were pretty quiet last weekend. I posted 4 things today. That's OK though, it was actually nice having a bit of breathing space. If I have a few quiet weeks, it's no biggy. This is far from being my main source of income. I do feel for those where this is their only source of income. It must be getting really hard to keep their head above water.
