Hi , why I'm I paying 20% Ebay fees ? 9.9 selling fees and an additional 9.9 selling fee when my buyers decide upgrade to express post ?
I sold it for $259.99 with free regular shipping , My Final Valve fee was $28.31 But the buyer wanted an upgrade to express shipping so i changed him $13.00 shipping cost . The actual shipping costs of the express shipping was $15.90 , that is an lost of $2.90 straight off the bat .
So this is my question WHY IS EBAY charging me additional 10% $1.42 for my Express shipping , Im not making money out of it , so should EBAY ?????????????

There is no such thing as being charged 20% for any fees on ebay so if you know that you're an intelligent person then why do you think this?
Ebay is a very scary place so that's why I'm scared.
I do not know anybody here personally. I have answered the OP question prooving she/he is wrong but he/she ignores it and keeps attacking others.
The OP, read my last post get a calculator and you will see that you are wrong. What is your point picking on all other members in this thread?
BTW, I only have one ebay ID and that's the one I am selling under and post here with.
The fact that eBay has started chanrging fees on postage has bee discussed here many times and I do not remember seeing anyone here who says it is ok and happy with it.
If you think anybody here is attacking you personally report them to ebay rather than attacking them back.

ozstockman , thanks for you replys , i understand what your saying about replying to others, but i come here to try to gage whether the fees im paying are true and correct , NOTHING MORE !
Maybe my question was REAL DUMB to some people and wasnt worded correctly . But theres people that have replyed maybe they shouldnt .
They answer under unused accounts / They call them buying accounts
If there answer are correct , Why do they HIDE there identity ? WHAT ARE THEY SCARED OF ?
Anyway back to it . Im not sure how you get to 7.9% in fees in total like you said on sunday
i sold item for $259.99 that included free standard shipping and for that ebay charged me Final fee of $28.31
Then my buyer wanted it fast so they upgraded it to express shipping , I though i was doing a nice thing by giving them a discount on express shipping .
As all Platinum Sellers know ! that express shipping is 1.5x or 2x to 2.5x higher then regular shipping .
all platinum SELLERS KNOW this
It all depends on weight and delivery address
What my point was that ebay took a fee that i think that they didnt deserved.
I was allready in the hole because i already discounted the express shipping and i I wanted to know what a platinum seller feedback is , as i would think that they are about the ONLY ones with enough experience to answer
Ebay gets 9.9% on Final fee and 9.9% on My free shipping that i have include in my listing and now if my customers want express shipping even though I discounted the express shipping , Ebay wants another 9.9% for express shipping , I dont think this is FAIR , so not sure how you come up with 7.9 % total
and will have GST now too
I really dont want any NASTY feedback if you think im Wrong and cant saying it nicely Please keep it to your self ,
I am REAL DUMB so please be patient with me and try and explain this to me in full if you can thanks
I thank all replys and takeing the time , sorry i didnt have time to spell check or read over to this to make sure even if it make sense

Because, as has been explained, eBay charge their fees on the total amount paid by the buyer, regardless of what it is for. Plus 10% GST on those fees.
Why do you only want platinum sellers to reply? Most of them don't venture off the PS board. They don't like playing witth us plebs

What's 9.9% of nothing?
People use buying and posting accounts because there have been instances
of lurkers (those who don't post) and others, buying from them, just to trash their account.
This way is safer.

I think a lot of members here have tried to explain to you that pecentage does not sum up and to see what percentage you have paid in fees you need to do it in compeltelly different way to what you are trying to do.
Lets make it easy and consider some example where an item price is $500 with regular postage included(aka "free postage") and just in case some buyers want it to be posted express a seller has set up express postage for extra $20
The seller has 10% rate fee charged by eBay and this fee is charged on the item price and postage. Since it is the same rate for both the item price and postage it is just easier to say that eBay charges 10% fee on total.
Some buyer buys the item and pays with for it posted with regular post. The order total is $500 because postage is set as free while actually postage cost is in the item price. So total is $500, fees on total is 10% so the seller pays $50 in fees.
Another buyer wants the item to be posted express, so he chooses express and now total is $520($500 is the listed price and $20 extra for postage). The seller still pays the same 10% for fees but because there is extra $20 for express the seller pays $52 in fees, not $50 as with regular post.
If eBay had accidentally or on purpose charged the seller 20% in fees it would not have been $52 it would have been $104 in fees.
If it still does not make any sense with the item price that has postage cost included in it you can change my example to $480(item price), $20(regular post) and $40(express post) and you still get the same numbers. The fee would be still charged on total and they would be 10% not 20%.

Ozstockman that make sense ! but maybe i just didnt explain myself well enough !

See this is my problem ! Express post is upto THREE times the cost of Regular post and when i give my buyer a discount on express post ebay jumps on to get there piece of the pie and i dont think it ok !
