Why do i get charged FVF on shipping when customer elects to pick up ?

I bought something a few months ago and noticed the seller lived in the same town as me. I asked if he would mind if I picked up to save me postage and him FVF's, to which he agreed. Turns out he lived 2 minutes walk from my place around the corner. I suggested that he send a revised invoice to reflect $0 postage as we agreed I'd pay in cash when I picked up (all of $7). He never sent a revised invoice, just marked the item as paid and posted after I left. Due to the size of the item, it was going to cost $15.75 (or there abouts) to post, so he got charged FVF's on that when he didn't need to. He had 800+ feedback, so not a new ebayer.

I think you hit the nail on the head, ebay just hope seller marks paid without checking if postage is still sitting on the the original invoice that way they make more money on a service they don't provide. I call it sneaky.
