95% of the world uses metric so why doesnt ebay force sellers to use themetric measurement system? If I see inches I just dont bother.

Could it be that eBay is a US based company where imperial is the norm? There are plenty of online converters out there that can help you convert measurements. My favourite is Online Conversions. It covers pretty much anything you need.

Probably for the same reason they don't force sellers to use Chinese, despite the fact it's the most widely spoken language.

Sorry knickname, but are you so lazy you can't convert the measurements.
It's like when they withdrew an HSC question years ago because they thought it was too confusing to HSC students to convert digital and analog times in a question.
We live in such a user friendly society, we have forgotten how to think.
Using the grey matter in your head shouldn't be so painful, it's there for uses such as this, otherwise google up a free converter online.
Simples.

IMO sensible sellers give measurements in metric and imperial, I certainly do as a lot of oder people still think in feet and inches plus if you sell internationally the US use Imp and although the UK is technically metric anyone over the age of about 30 thinks imperial and many retail outlets give both measurements.

I use both imperial and metric. It's easy to do because my tape measure is imperial on one side and metric on the other.

Perhaps, but do we really want ebay to force sellers to be sensible?
They won't get me, dang it.

Metric only measurements in my clothing listings for me.
Measurements always taken with garment laying flat, always provided in listings, even though from time to time this information is not read and utilised in a buyers decision making.
Can live with it.
Can live with other sellers providing no measurements at all.
Can live with other sellers providing imperial and/or metric measurements.

Burma, Liberia and the forward thinking US exclusively use inches, feet and yards. I am not sure if poles and perches are included.

I find it funny that when it comes to babies, people still want to know what a baby weighs in pounds. Even though we've been metric since the 70's, even my colleagues in their 20's will ask what a baby weighs in pounds!
I think some old style measurements remain regardless. We don't have 5, 7.5, 10 and 15cm bandages at work, we have 2, 3, 4 and 6 inch bandages! If I asked one of my young colleagues to get me a 10cm bandage they'd look at me strange.
I think it's up to the individual seller if they want to use metric, imperial or both in their listings. I use MM in mine, but the weights are in carats, grams and ounces, for most things.
