How to kill Australian business and price them themselves out of a market

Raise their Price yet again.

Any seller out here using the small 500G bags for cheaper items you are going to be priced out of business.

3kg satchel $12.50

But its all fine to continue to deliver over seas parcels at a loss of $70+ Million a year and make Australians pay for the loss

Its going to take longer to get our parcels delivered.

From 22 October 2012 the published delivery standards for domestic regular parcels (Parcel Post and over the counter assessed parcels) will be changing with the addition of one extra day to the delivery standards. For example, the current delivery standard for regular parcels from Sydney to Melbourne is 2 days. This will change to a range of 2-3 days.

Aus Post obviously haven't heard of a GFC, de-flation and that etailers are struggling to compete with o/seas cheap postal rates.

It's no wonder why the o/seas sellers continue to flourish under their subsidised postage rates kindly provided by Aus. Post.

And it's only because AP is locked into the UPU.

If buyers started to be a bit patriotic and didn't buy falling apart rubbish from OS sellers, then AP's loss on OS mail would drop. Which should mean they wouldn't be able to justify the level of increases they currently impose.

The cost to the Australian economy of people looking for the cheapest cost regardless is far more than the few dollars involved.

Iron ore prices are dropping, so maybe the dollar will depreciate.?:|

Looks like we have a month to save a bit of cash and buy up big on the pre-paid satchels!!  My 'book buying at book sales strategy' has changed dramatically in the last few months. I am consciously looking for thin books that will fit into the cheapish prepaid envelopes. If you can't beat 'em, join 'em! Or at least try to.

Maybe it would make us feel better by writing to him/his dept and pointing out what the constant postage increases, both internally and internationally, are doing to the small Aussie businesses  that keep the economy ticking over...or try to!

I think sir Humphrey would say it takes a lot to provide so much to so few over such a vast space including islands and desert locations
