First time seller and unable to get past this page when trying to continue as private seller

I click on "continue as private" and there is a circular icon with an arrow which rotates a couple of times and then disappears and then nothing. I tried doing this on the app and the exact same thing happens. if eBay could tell me why this is happening so I can set up my store that would be great.

No I haven't, as I clicked on the "sell" link at the top of the page and was going through the steps until I got stuck on this page.

I clicked on the link you posted and it tells me I need to provide proof of identification and verify bank details by signing into Seller Hub or My eBay. I've signed in and have no idea where I do this?

What banner? I don't see anything that relates to this in seller hub or my eBay.

Ok it turns out I have to click on "change to business" and verify my personal and banking details and submit it before the listing could go live.

Why bother putting a button that says 'continue as private' if it doesn't do anything and you really have to click on the business option to register as an individual seller? Who designed that, honestly..

No you did not need to change to business seller, and now you can never return to a private selling.

I do not know where you got that from but it is 100% wrong

You are now stuck with a business account
