Hi Everyone,
I listed an item as BUY NOW tonight for an agreed price with buyer in UK. Having listed in Australia, I was confused to see from the buyers screenshot that the price on UK Ebay is $28 more than the listed price at my end.
Is anyone else experiencing a similar anomaly?

Shouldn't your buyer be seeing the price in GBP? Perhaps it's Ebay's exchange rate?
Alternatively, I believe that Ebay started adding applicable taxes/VAT some time ago. Previously, buyers in the UK would have had to pay it before receipt of the physical parcel, but now it's included.
It will be easier to see once the transaction takes place as you can refer to the order details for the breakdown.
Either way, my suggestion is that when you send it, you put a copy of the paperwork on the outside of the parcel. I usually fold it up and put into a small ziplock baggie which is taped down on 3 sides. Customs can therefore look at the receipt and ascertain that duties have been paid.

Hi,
Thank you for the response, very much appreciated. Yes I have had this put to me by an Ebay seller friend a short time ago. Silly of me not to have considered the VAT charge, once was that it was dealt with overseas by buyer at time of collection.

Thank you for your reply, much appreciated. Yes it does seem to have been attributable to VAT. It has been a while since I sent something overseas and had not caught up with the changes that Ebay had made in other countries. Thanks for the tip to ensure customs have proof that VAT has been paid. Between postage and customs charges it has become more of a challenge to be competitive with overseas sales.
