I am currently selling an item on eBay. The item location is
incorrectly shown as the Ashmore and Cartier Islands which
are an offshore Australian island group in the Indian Ocean.
They are unpopulated and obviously giving potential buyers
the wrong impression of where I'm actually located, and also
may give the impression of the sale being a scam.
I have attempted to resolve this issue with the eBay chat site,
but with no success after a 45-minute session!
Any ideas as to how to change my seller address greatly appreciated.
Regards to all, Geoff.

OK - explain - for example - listing an item for a friend - the A&C Islands - zero - zilch - nihil - population.

The camera you sold also has A&C Islands as location....I think an eBay 'glitch' on your account, which is ongoing.....ask to speak to a supervisor....good luck!

His friend is a bird? ๐
Not really - that was actually a general comment, explaining why the item location might be different to the seller's actual address, not specifically related to the (very unusual) location showing on the OP's listing.

Thanks for this, but in my sender details it shows Australia plus
the correct postcode, rather than the Ashmore and Cartier Islands
address. I spent 45 minutes on Chat, without any resolution. The
person didn't seem to be able to comprehend exactly what my
problem was, and just kept repeating irrelevant questions!

try again and demand a supervisor......or go to their facebook page & complain there.....apparently people have more success when everyone can see the complaint??

It's not rocket science.
Seller address is independent of location. That is why Chinese sellers can list item location in Australia when they are unlikely to have stock in Australia. You seem to have A&C as your location. Change it. Individually or in bulk for your extant listings. In the item location field of your listings.

All avenues of support/suggestions have been exhausted, including eBay Chat.
I've now added a note in the body of my ad to clarify the item location.
With thanks to the members here who offered me help. ๐

Did you try editing the item location?

It appears not. After all, why spend a few seconds making sure your ONE listing is accurate, rather than wasting several hours of eBay and members time trying to help you.
