Non-staff members are responding as though they're authoritative

Need I highlight some words?

Forum index

To the "eBay team" who is "regularly check"ing "this board for reported issues", please make efforts to ensure the users making authoritative claims are doing so with citations from the actual references in questions, as it seems they're not reflecting reality. That is to say, there are users here who claim to know the policies, but don't, and are spreading their broken assumptions regarding the policies onto other users... not helpful!

The volunteers that answer here are members like your self and more often than not know MORE than the ebay workers ๐Ÿ™‚

eBay don't read here, only other members.

And many here are more knowledgeable than the eBay call centre which is located in Phillipines.

If you don't agree with any of the responses, ignore those, it's your choice.

This forum is run by another company called Lithium.

You will be older than me if you wait for a response from eBay.

Do a bit of leg work through this forum and see if you can find a SINGLE instance where an eBay employee has responded to an issue. You might find a couple where the problem has been reported as fixed, but there is no guarantee it is due to reports on this board.

A bit like the 'Chat with eBay Staff' board you included in your screen grab. That place has cobwebs worthy of Indiana Jones's attention.

I have just read some of your responses on another thread and your communication skills leave a lot to be desired.

Have you missed some words again? Read them slowly... the words from the screenshot... read them very slowly, and feel free to ask questions about any words which you don't understand...

We're only human. We all have faults. I strive not to answer questions that are authoritative in nature with pure guesswork. That's how I communicate. If someone asks me what the speed limit is, I don't give them some random imagined number that I pulled out of my **bleep**... right?

Regardless of what the heading shows, eBay demonstrably DON'T monitor this forum. As you have been advised by several members - those who know how this place actually works.

If you wish otherwise, that is your choice. If you wish to cast aspersions, that is also your choice.

Board policy (which you have doubtless read, you have at least said you did) tells you to be civil, too. You don't seem to have taken that on board.

You do realise that the 'Chat with ebay staff' in your screen grab is from 2017? Yes, that's LAST YEAR.

Ebay staff simply never visit here (or at least try to answer questions). The only people who answer questions are volunteers who seem to know far more than any ebay staff member, especially those in the call centre or on the 'Help' desk.
