Had some very unusual behavour using eBay today. Logged in the a little later being asked to log in again. Second login fails with message suggesting I need to stop blocking cookies (but I don't block cookies).
Tried again and eventually did log in. But along the way I saw the unusual username appear in the login window ...
A bit concerning, so I took a screenshot, see attached.

A few minutes ago I posted "Security concern" and described login problems I had today. In that post I attached a screenshot showing a wierd username that had appeared in my login window "chjecje.5qsvyx".
After I submitted my post I noticed it was posted uinder that weird name, not mine !! uurrrggh.
Now I'm realy concerned !!
Attaching the screenshot again.
Hoping this second post goes up in my true username, and someone can explain what may be happening
thanks

Just contact eBay.
This gives you their direct links without having to go through their rigmarole:
https://www.ebay.com.au/help/home.
Just keep in mind that the Call option is only available during business hours,
(8 am to 9 pm Mon to Fri and 8 am to 5 pm on Sat and Sun).
Have us call you seems to be the best option.
Just scroll to the bottom of that page.

If the buyer has not left feedback there will be nothing to show.
If you look at the feedback the seller has left for others you are not likely to be able to pick it up as the buyer IDs are all encripted....thank you ebay!

Thanks for all the suggestions and info. My Paypal account doesn't show anything unusual but I will give eBay a ring, once they're open tomorrow.
FWIW I've been using eBay for many years, and I'm very computer literate. I'm the only user of this computer. I didn't jump into the apparent "panic" without a long concerning sequence of issues as I tried to login. So I felt obliged to report the issue ... and this discussion forum seemed only option.
The big concern is how on earth did I end up logged in with that username, since I only have one eBay account and password.
Anyway I'll check it out and post back here once I know.
cheers

Good luck with it all, it might be good to ask to speak with a supervisor at eBay, it will likely save you having to explain yourself several times and/or needing to make several calls
Might be worth running a virus/malware scan on your computer just for added peace of mind for yourself

Both of the usernames are online and they must both be coming from your computer so if you're the only one that use's it then you may have been hacked?
Have you ran a security scan on your computer to see if there has been any concern?
