This issue seems to have been resolved (for me anyway). But I get your frustration with ebay tech. They are much too busy enhancing things that don't need enhancing to be bothered with the basics, like a workable system. Change for changes sake seems to be the dominant mindset at ebay HQ. Just remember that ebay is run by computer savvy nerds who have never actually bought or sold anything on the system.
