Unable to access messages on mobile site

I'm unable to access my messages on the ebay mobile site (e.g. going to ebay.com or ebay.com.au via my phone's browser). When I'm on the "My eBay" page and tap on "Messages," it just brings me back to the same page. The only way around this is by going directly to ebay.com/messages (which comes up with the desktop view) but even then I can't reply to them - I just get kicked back to the mobile version of "My eBay."

Did you try to update the latest version of the app?

Re: Unable to access messages on mobile site

There are several different ways to view messages on a mobile device.

Using a mobile browser in mobile mode is one way. If you are having problems with your browser, you could try another browser to see if that makes any difference.

You could also try using the eBay app to read and respond to your messages. Make sure you have the latest version of the eBay app for your operating system.

You could also try using a mobile browser in desktop mode. Go to ebay.com or ebay.com.au in your browser, and then request the desktop site version of the page -- in most browsers this is done through the three dot menu. Then go to the messages inbox. As long as you open links in the same browser tab, that tab should stay in desktop mode.

Re: Unable to access messages on mobile site

Thank you for the suggestions! I'm not a huge fan of the app, I prefer the mobile site as I like to keep the number of apps on my device to a minimum (although the website certainly needs some improvement!).

I've tried doing it in desktop view but the site thinks I'm using an outdated browser and won't let me go any further.

Try a different browser to see if that makes any difference.

If you go to ebay.com.au first and then request the desktop site version of the page, you should be able to open all your links in that browser tab and remain in desktop mode.
