how do ebay check with you when a fraudulent purchase is made

ive just been called saying that someone was fraudulently trying to use my account and that to cancel i would have to open gmail play on my phone and fill out a form to cancel it. I asked him to send any forms to my email but he said that it wasnt possible as he didnt have my details. 

I called b.s. but wondered how ebay do notify you if there is suspicious behavior on an account.

I have the melbourne based landline number if this may help but dont knoiw who or what could be done.

eBay usually send correspondence via ebay messages and you get a copy sent to your email.

Chat with ebay is the only option at present due to covid-19.

The call sounds purely like a scam call.

I'm glad you didn't download the form as it would be a phishing exercise.

If your account had been compromised, eBay would have frozen it.
