watch items end clik to check details and a"similar" item is shown not original listing WHY?

IN the past  when a watched item ended you could click on the ended auction and see the oriuginal listing ( And check the details etc such as model numbers  pictures etc) now the original listing is not show and you get

"The listing you're looking for is no longer available. Check out this similar item we found for you"

Why the change if we wanted similar items  and usually they are not similar we couold look ourselves

Click on the word "listing" and you will get the original listing that you were watching.

You are not alone in disliking the changes.....I doubt that anyone does.

It is highlighted in blue where you have quoted the message that you get with the alternate listing....ebay has given you a link to the original listing.
