23 /8 Ebay glitches and problems -

Ebay have posted on facebook that there is "intermitttent issues following complications during routine maintenance.  We are working to resolve the matter prompty and regret any inconvienience".

Cats, did your auctions get any last minute bids?

Seems it was a worldwide problem so snipe bids probably wouldn't have been placed.

No, no last minute bids - lucky they were already at a price I was ok with, but ya never know .....

I feel for those sellers who are losing big bucks tonight on auctions

and those buyers who were wanting to bid .......

oh well, I was going to prepare listings tonight, but inkfrog is semi-down too - assuming the links it has with ebay is playing some havoc ???

What a shocking night that was! I had a sale finishing up and the buyers could not get onto ebay 😞  I could not do any adding of items to my shop either, which I usually do on a Friday night...frustrating!

I had a lot of problems on Friday night and in fact, there were glitches all through Saturday as far as posting on this board goes. For me, anyway; not sure how others found it.

The question I would like to ask is why does the ebay crew do maintenance on a Friday night?

I have read posts in the past that have said not to have listings finish on a Friday night as it is a regular occurrence that maintenance is done then.

Maybe it is just me, but I would have thought Friday night would be a big night for sellers & buyers. Work is over for the week, people don't have to be in bed early, they might relax on the computer.

Why on earth don't ebay do their tinkering on eg a Monday or Tuesday night? It would make more sense.

Friday evening in Australia is early hours of the morning in ebay US, I think that's why they do the  updates then...

Issues, what issues, No issues on eBay.  Gee if there were problems on Fridays we would have to compensate sellers, for lost sales.  No No definitely no issues on Fridays.  Sometimes there might be very very small ones very late Thursday or early Friday morning in the USA, but none during the day time in USA so you must be imagining things.
