Contract Breakers.. Ebay fail

How disgusting!!!!!! I was selling something that i made sure had a Full 2 Plus hours extra to end AFTER your so called maintenance on here on the 23rd August 2913, It had 36 views 5 watches and due to the MORE than 6 hours extra it took for you to even get ebay anywhere close to fixed i have lost out on getting further bids!!!!The other 5 watches had NO CHANCE to bid. The one small bid that was put on 3 days ago ended up winning this, they have payed overnight by paypal and i am disgusted that i have to go ahead with a contract to sell when YOU LET DOWN YOUR SIDE OF THE CONTRACT

Re: Contract Breakers.. Ebay fail

You should check with eBay to see what they are doing about auctions that ended during the outage. According to the eBay Site Outage Policy your auction should be extended.

eBay has posted this message on the US Announcements page.

A message regarding last nightโ€™s site outage

From 11:45 pm PST on August 22 through 6:00 am PST on August 23, several eBay sites and customer service platforms around the world experienced intermittent outages. These outages were the result of technical issues which occurred during regularly scheduled maintenance.

Weโ€™ve resolved the core technical issues and all eBay sites and customer service functions are up and running again, with near 100% functionality. We are now working to build additional safeguards into the maintenance process to prevent this from happening again.

Know that at no point during this incident was any personal information at risk.

Sellers that were impacted by this outage are covered by the protections in our site outage policy. We will provide impacted sellers with additional information regarding applicable credits in the coming days.

The site outage policy

http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/everyone-outage.html

Hard outage of two hours or more

In the event of a hard outage of two hours or more, eBay automatically extends listings for 24 hours. eBay also automatically credits all associated fees for affected listings. The following listings will be eligible for extension and credit:

  • Any listing scheduled to end during the outage

  • Any listing scheduled to end in the hour after the end of the outage

Re: Contract Breakers.. Ebay fail

When is this so called 24 hour extension meant to occur? I have one guy wanting to pay for the item he won off the back of a starting bid a few days ago as well... I had 10 others watching the auction and expected atleast a few other cracks at the auction in the dying minutes, but no...nothing...no fix and no help...
