Sending funds using PayPal-a total joke

On the 23rd his month I bought an item and immediately transferred funds from my bank account using Paypal.
There is 29th today and funds are still are not cleared.
The item in question is a tent which I require for up coming holidays.
Will PayPal provide a compensation as I will have to buy another tent (in a shop)?
Will some from Paypal respond to this topic but without usual gimmicky excuses?

It takes 3-5 business days for the money to clear usually. It will sometimes depend on your bank or if you have the correct details.

I've had the same problem before.. For some reason unknown to me paypal payments from a bank account go through as an e check which takes the 3 -5 days to clear... paypal never gave me warning it was going to do this and it seems to be quite random. It wasnt like I didnt have the funds in the account... Got no answer for you unfortunately but to just wait for it to clear and contact the seller to explain payment is pending.

I am a seller. I find it frustrating that buyers are not informed of this clearly enough. Our postage stars etc depend on fast service, which of course is difficult for us if they money takes so long to clear.

Having the same problem atm, paypal debited funds out of my account at my request, the funds were clear straight from bank account on sunday night,paypal says it is still processing, went to live help on ebay and Op tells me it is 29 March (paypal estimates clearance 30 march), this I did today 30/March, so ebay live help is not even Australian based as she told me the date was only the 29th March, why are paypal hanging onto the money so long now ?

A. Because they make money from interest while your funds are clearing. 😉

EXACTLY.
That is what they do. They will hold it for as long as they wish.
Usually the money comes out of the payees bank account within 24 hrs but hangs in lingo in PayPal coffers for over a week. Not a bad rort, the pricks.

RUBBISH

The tranfer from you Bank is not an EFTPOS transaction... it is a money transfer.

The time that it takes to be trasferred from your Bank to Paypal is determined by how quickly YOUR BANK transfers the finds and clears them.

Simple as that. If you don't like it, then put a Credit or Debit Card on file with Paypal.

Consider... why does a NORMAL cheque take a few days to clear?
