From 31 January 2025, all sellers who have weight-based rate tables will be automatically opted into dimensional weight.
What does this mean?
Before the update, weight-based rate tables provide the postage cost to the buyer based on the total weight of a parcel. We understand that this can be different to the dimensional weight which carriers may use as part of determining delivery costs.
With dimensional weight calculation enabled, the total postage cost provided to your buyers for each parcel will be calculated based on the chargeable weight, which is the greater between dimensional weight and physical weight.
What do you need to do?
For sellers who do not currently have weight-based rate tables:
Any new weight-based rate tables created will already be set up with chargeable weight.
For sellers who currently have a weight-based rate tables:
You no longer need to ‘opt-in’ to allow the new calculations to work. We'll automatically opt you in to dimensional weight, apply it to your existing weight-based rate tables and work out the chargeable weight for all future parcels.
