From 1 September 2024, new restrictions on buying and selling knives and bladed products on eBay will go live.
What’s changing
We are clarifying that the following may not be listed on eBay:
- Zombie knives (knives that indicate either in the listing or on the knife itself that they are intended for violence against a person or fictional creature like a monster or zombie)
Additionally, to remain compliant with new knife sale restrictions in Queensland, Queensland buyers will no longer be allowed to purchase the knives and bladed products listed below:
- Knives with a single-sided blade, such as:
- Kitchen or steak knives
- Utility knives or box-cutters
- Fishing knives
- Craft knives and scalpels
- Cut-throat razors
- Single-sided knives within a multi-tool or kit
- Daggers that have a double-edged blade
- Knives (or multi-tool) with a blade at each end
- Swords
- Machetes
- Axes or tomahawks
- Sickles or scythes
- Spear guns or spears
