Look at the seller's feedback page
It shows you where they are registered and their ffedback will tell you if they lie about where they post from
Regents Park is one of the most common suburbs sellers in China say items are located
What was the item number for the fish tank light ?
Sounds like a lucky thing you won't get it, more than likely it woukd have been faulty, if not down right dangerous. It will not be of Australian safety standards, and have no warranty
I hope you were refunded in full

Did you get a refund? If not, as soon as the last ETA date appears, open a dispute for item not received through the eBay money back guarantee (MBG). Don't delay and don't let the Chinese seller string you along. I think after 4 or 6 days you can ask eBay to step in and help. Do that to get a refund. Don't believe the seller if they tell you that you need to close to dispute to get a refund. If you do that, you've lost. DO NOT close a dispute until you have the refund.
Other than that, do as Sandy said and always check the seller's feedback page. Under the username will say where they are registered. If it says China, or another Asian country, there is a 99% chance it will come from Asia, not the Australian suburb they have specified in the listing.
