Ordered size 12 shoes received 12W

Hi I ordered shoes in size US 12 but sent a pair marked US 12W marked on box and 12 wide width marked on shoe label. The ad did not specify they were wide. I would not have bought them if I knew they were wide. Ad did not specify any width. Seller policy states no returns. Do I have grounds for significantly not as described? Thanks

Re: Ordered size 12 shoes received 12W

Buyers error - resell the shoes.

Seller's error - open a case for INAD.

(Naturally, give the seller the opportunity to rectify first)

Re: Ordered size 12 shoes received 12W

Hi thanks, I believe was sellers error as he did not state size was a W. Contacted seller said I can return but I need to pay postage. I don't think I should have to pay that. Pretty dissapointed by sellers blunt and poor way of communicating as well. I just gonna try and sell them to recoup something rather than report INAD.

Did you try the 12W on?

There is often very little difference.

I usually take an 8 but one type of shoe only comes in an 8W and they are fine for me.

Yes, tried with 2 pairs of socks as well.

Re: Ordered size 12 shoes received 12W

The question really is whether the seller is obliged to put 12 Wide in the ad. The seller could argue the size is correctly advertised by just putting 12 which covers all widths. This is what I find an interesting question. My take is that by not mentioning the W the seller has not correctly described the product.

Re: Ordered size 12 shoes received 12W

The seller is obliged to describe items correctly and it is not difficult to put 12 W in the description.

However many eBayers are just home sellers and may not be aware of the importance of details.

Re: Ordered size 12 shoes received 12W

Yes, the seller should describe the items correctly......as you have found out the difference between 12 and 12W is enough to make the shoes unwearable.

I would go with an INAD dispute.
