so i bought & paid for an item on sun 7th, i saw the seller has 0 fb so sent them a msg just saying 'hi i have just paid, just wanted to make sure you got the payment ok?'....no response as of yet, sent it again yesterday just in case still no reply. Since Ebay stupidly enable the relist function by default i thought maybe this is a relist & the seller forgot about it. But nope, when i search for completed items by them theres only mine & another item sold on 27th June.
So how long would you wait before applying for a refund if you did not hear from the seller? i could be wrong but i have a gut feeling they're not going to respond. Maybe the've gone on school holiday & forgotten all about it or something. Or maybe they have or are going to post it just somehow didnt see my msgs

ebay sent me a msg wanting me to come here & pick a solution, so i did it to stop them nagging me lol. But thanks for the suggestons.
I still have not had a reply to any msgs i sent the seller nor received the item. Since its a small amount of $ i think i will give it another week or even longer to file for a refund &/or leave negative fb, who knows if something catastophic may have happened in the sellers life that they can't get online to let me know whats going on or have forgotten all about ebay in the midst of dealing with a crisis.
Because it really does not make sense that the items they listed were not relists & then they just forgot about or abandoned them. Then again, if they were listed under 'good til cancelled' who know how long they've been on there, maybe they did simply forgot about them.
Its a shame Ebay does not allow us to look up a members phone number or i would try calling them, when did they get rid of that? i can probably answer my own Q, i haven't even needed to do that for around 7 yrs so i guess its along time then lol. More over zealous privacy rules *groan*

You used to be able to “request seller details” which would give you their phone number. I tried to find the page but couldn’t locate with the Help page unfortunately, so not sure if this is still available

barney, don't let yourself feel forced to "pick a solution". eBay doesn't have someone whose job it is to nag at you; it's all bot-driven. You can create message filters in your email browser to delete all emails that, for instance, include the phrase "Did you get the answer you needed?"
It really does seem that you've waited for long enough at this stage. You've sent messages to the seller, without getting a reply - and it's been 9 business days now. That means that the latest estimated delivery date has passed.
I suppose you can wait a little longer. I would probably not leave it much longer than another week. If you report that it hasn't arrived yet, the seller still has the opportunity to respond.
I would avoid leaving feedback (or mentioning feedback in the dispute) until all of that is resolved. I don't believe in leaving feedback mid-dispute, because for me the transaction is as much about how the seller handles an issue as it is about an actual issue having arisen.

thanks i didn't think of how they are given time to respond, would you know how long that is? & if they dont respond ebay issue a refund straight away then? & i agree, i would not leave a neg for awhile yet, certainly not til its all resolved.

From the Get help with an item that hasn't arrived page:
❝Let the seller know your item hasn't arrived
If the estimated delivery date for your item has passed, and you still haven't received your item, let the seller know. You have 30 days from the estimated delivery date to inform the seller that you didn't receive your item.

Once you've told them there's a problem, the seller has 3 business days to provide a delivery update, offer a replacement, or give you a refund.❞

thanks for holding my hand through that LOL, sorry i should've actually read all the page before asking.....
3 days seems a bit short though really, what if someone doesn't have internet access for that time or just only checks their ebay stuff once a week etc, oh well Ebay does things the way they see best....

No problem, barney. (I know that not everyone will read linked pages!)

just in case anyone had sleepless nights wondering about the conclusion to this lol, i thought i would fill you in. So i never heard anything from the buyer nor did i receive the item, i filed the dispute & i received my paypal refund no problems. BUT, & here is the ironically hilarious bit, i accidentally left positive feedback for the seller!
It was when i had my items in the list after you leave fb for one member then you click to leave more feedback, so it was the one above that i meant to leave the fb for, DOH!
i contacted ebay support who removed the comment but when then i asked them if they could remove the score, they said it was not possible. So for the sellers non efforts they have been rewarded with a positive feedback score of 1

You should have used the followup to feedback left and told the proper story.
If the green dot is still there it may be possible to use the followup and leave what you should have left originally.
While it does not change to green dot, it does stand out like a sore thumb and some buyers may see it before it goes off the first page of feedback.

i forgot about the follow up to fb, thanks have done it now. It will be interesting to see what happens with the seller since they did sell another item back on 27th June but the buyer has not left fb....
