A bit worried

I am just a bit sus of my seller. He had an item up for 295 I bid 270 got accepted straight away.Ok now in blurb he says that he wants bank deposit.Feeling wary anyway so say no will do pay pal Friday .He says can't wait that long put$100 deposit in bank now.So I say no Ill pay pay pal today. What do you think? It just seems dicey so should I pay him by pay pal and see what happens .Just abit worried it's a scam and I will be left waiting for pay pal to sort everything out and I'll miss out on others as I will have no money to spare .It is a laptop for daughter at school.

DO NOT pay with bank deposit, you have no buyer protection should something go wrong.
If the seller won't accept it then move on to one that will. If the said seller wants to cancel the sale if he doesn't accept paypal then I wouldn't agree to that either. If he has to pay the fees on the sale he might stop requesting bank deposit

The bricks and mortar shop all have sales on at the moment, go and check them out. 12 months warranty if it breaks a much safer bet in my opinion.

If it's for a pick up then go and inspect the item and if you're happy with it then pay them.

Never pay with PayPal for any pick up items as their is no buyer protection.

There  is no paypal protection for a pick up item if you go that way.  You should inspect thoroughly and if satisfied pay cash at time of pick up.  No offence meant but do you have a fairly good knowledge of computers?  If you pay and get it home then something is not working correctly you are on your own and you have blown your money.  As stated retailers are falling over each other at the present time with deals and you get warranty.  IMO I would go to a B&M.

yes but the $270 could end up costing you a lot lot more and still be without a computer!
The old saying applies. you get what you pay for.

Just a quick look online Dick smith notebook $299 another for $349 heck you might even get it interest free payments.

Can you put the item number up?

It may be easier for members to have an idea on your seller & if you can trust this transaction.

Your seller seems a bit pushy, which is a bit of a worry.
