Just wondering, if i am a buyer, and receive an unpaid item strike for an item (unpaid item case expiring), ebay closes the transaction, can i still leave feedback for the seller after that?
Or shall feedback to left prior to the an "upaid item case" expiring.

He's either comfortable sending to PO addressees or he's not. Apparently it's not enough of an issue for that requirement to be even mentioned on his listings, and apparently he's willing to send to the PO address of this buyer...so his settings are causing pointless confusion anyway. Ultimately, he's in error, the buyer was punished for it, and the majority of you are supporting it.
My understanding is that if a seller has ticked not to deliver to PO boxes a warning from eBay is supposed to come up for the buyer before an item is purchased. It is similar to the warning which comes up about possible custom charges etc when buying internationally.
From what I understand of this situation the buyer never received this warning from eBay and it was only when they went through checkout were they blocked from paying.
If they didn't receive the warning then the fault lies with eBay and it would be unfair to penalise the seller for a possible eBay glitch particularly as the seller offered an alternative way to pay using Paypal.

Absolute hypocrasy...if it's unfair to penalise the seller for eBay's glitch, why is their no support for the buyer who has too been unfairly penalised for the same glitch with an upaid item strike?

Here's why there is little support . . . . . . . if the other thread is read an alternate picture may be seen. The OP opened and Item Not As Described claim and stated (falsely) in that claim that they had paid "elsewhere" for the item in order to facilitate that claim (post # 3 of http://community.ebay.com.au/topic/Buying/Seller-Send-Address/600152814)
on โ15-09-2012 02:13 PM
and . . . . the other thread provides information from the OP that the seller offered a solution that would have seen the item sent to a PO Box, and posters have pointed out to the OP that the solution offered would have afforded them buyer protection.
My own view, I spend more than the total of the said transaction on a can of softdrink each day . . . . I would have taken the sellers solution and if the item never turned up I would have just chalked it up to experience. Too much angst over a couple of dollars . . . . better things to do with my time.

It may have nothing to do with being "comfortable", some items may not be possible to send to PO boxes. Usually large items that go with couriers, as that has nothing to do with AP. It is possible that this seller sells large items and in listing for those that fact is explained. Also often some parts of listings default to something that the seller had no intention to have on that listing. For instance, some items I sell are for Australia only, but on several occasions, when I re-listed them they came up as WORLDWIDE, despite the original listing was correct.
The seller tried to accommodate the buyer the best they could. By the way, paying directly by PP is NOT trading outside eBay - the sale was already done through eBay, how it is paid for is irrelevant = cash on pick up, DD or private PP payment. But considering that this was o/s transaction PP was the only way.

As I've mentioned before, at the time, i didn't know that buyer protection is offered when ebay checkout is bypassed. I was under the impression that it must be done through Checkout. And it was not physically possible for me to complete checkout, because of certain conditions that was not brought to my attention when reading the item description.
And no, the low amount isn't a big concern to me. I'm was following through as i would if it was a high value item i guess, because i like to be consistant and treat all transactions equally, more from habit for my other business dealings outside of ebay, i.e try and treat low value transactions with as much importance as one would treat higher value transactions.
Yes i did "falsify" the item not as described report with the relation that i made payment, i did this as a workaround to ebay's system, how else would once make a report? (about item not as described), in items, i mean relating to the item and transaction as a whole.
As a result of this "false report", ebay has replied to me and they know about it, and have made suggestions what i should do (in the other thread).
I tried to contact ebay without making the report, but couldn't work out how. Looked very hard in the customer support centre, and all i could find was canned FAQ responses, and no contact details, seemed the only way to contact ebay was via a report, so that is what i did, to contact them (and i mentioned this in the report). The reason i made the report was the only i could find to contact ebay for a "real person" for support.
But i blame most of this on ebay's "glitch", its not really directly the buyer or seller's fault. It would be nice if the seller would mention the condition in the description, but ebay has this on its records, so they should be warning the buyer *before* they commit to the transaction, not after. This has happened to me many many times, but always sellers have been helpful and have mutually cancelled.
I have tried to to show this to ebay, but no bug report page or relevant contact details could be found, only pages of canned FAQ responses. Perhaps something is out there, but i haven't been able to find it.

You were told on the 11/9 what to do...either pay or risk a strike.
You do seem to have an odd perception of morality though...you are quite happy to "circumvent" the ebay rules and lie about the item not being as described when you have not paid for it. And yet you will not make a payment direct through paypal so the seller can send the item. How did starting a dispute allow you to contact ebay anyway and why did you need to?
And now you want to leave feedback, presumably negative, for a seller who has tried to help you.
I just do not understand all the angst over $1.29.

Okay . . . I went to look for a way to contact eBay without having to go through the canned FAQs.
Try this:
- click on customer support heading at top right of page
- when that page loads you click on the "Customer Support" tab (beside the 'Find An Answer' tab)
- then 'hover' over the "Buying" heading and then click on the "Paying for items" link under the 'After your purchase' heading.
- When that page loads you are presented with some 'canned' information as well as a link over to the right of the window for "Send us an email" where you can contact eBay without having to make a report.
The email will be replied to by a real person.
I have gone through the steps as it may be of more help than simply posting the link.
This is a link to that last page where you can choose to send an email: http://ocs.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ContactCS&ref=1&topicrelid=5011970130&sid=5297451814&convId=...
Hope this is of help if you are ever in this situation again.

and on that last page you can click on the "call us" link where you are given a 1-800 phone number and a one-time passcode number so you can phone eBay and speak to a real person too.
