Aus Post parcel says "delivered" but I received nothing, not even a note

I'm sure you've heard this issue before, but it's the first time I've encountered it.

Going to use XXX to keep specific places hidden.

Using the Aus Post tracking number, standard delivery:

- 1/8: Received By Australia Post - XXX VIC

- 2/8: With Australia Post for delivery today - MITCHELL ACT, 7:25am

- 2/8:  Delivered - MITCHELL ACT, 2:16pm

I am from ACT but not MITCHELL, I'm from another suburb. No where on here is my suburb shown. It just has MITCHELL ACT twice. It says that it is complete/delivered, but I didn't receive anything at home, not even the note to collect it from the post office.

I called Australia Post and gave them all the details and lodged a "dispute case" or "missing case" or whatever it is.

What happens from here? What could've possibly happened?

If things go extra sour and it is not located, what do I do about getting my money back? I bought it using PayPal. But if the seller did send it to the correct address then this is on Australia Post.

The thing that I bought is worth ~ $750. Will Aus Post cover? eBay seller? I'm so lost. Help.

This is carp,(all listings have now been removed including "sold" listings so it's a proven scammer/hijacker

and eBay should refund all buyer).

They always have in the past I just can't see a reason why they have not already done so,stubborn_smiley_by_mirz123-d4bt0te_zps12f1a5a3.gif

Maybe contact eBay and ask why money hasn't been refunded as all the listings have been removed.

Case resolved, buyer won as seller couldn't provide valid postage information.

Cheers for all the help in this forum everyone. Glad to have it refunded, but wow, that was an anxious and annoying process.

To future buyers:

- Don't buy something if the price seems too good to be true

- Don't buy from a new seller

- Don't be fooled by a high standard of English and sellers who are quick to respond to messages

- Look for either 100% or +99% feedback and read the comments

- Confirm signature on delivery with seller (although you shouldn't have to)

- Any discussion regarding PayPal withholding funds is an immediate red light, as this is a standard process for new sellers

Adios!

Thanks for letting us know and that it's worked out for you,(unfortunatly this is not how it should have been

resolved).

The seller had all their listings removed and that only happens if they were scam listings so all buyers

should've automatically been refunded,(the worry now is if some of the buyers don't know or don't start a

dispute they may not get their money back).

Seems to be one of the reasons they took away the Email option so that they can't be contacted with all the

details of the scam,(integrity/honesty and doing the right thing certainly doesn't seem to be part of eBay and it

looks like the scammer may get away with some of the money), stubborn_smiley_by_mirz123-d4bt0te_zps12f1a5a3.gif

Re: Aus Post parcel says "delivered" but I received nothing, not even a note

I'm so glad it was resolved for you!

Re feedback, it depends on the volume of sales. For a low-volume seller, just one or two negatives can plunge them into a % below 90; I look at their feedback comments to let me gauge whether it's safe enough for me to buy from them.

For high volume sellers, 99.5% is what I consider the lowest acceptable feedback score. Exceptions may apply but at my own risk.

High value items or tech items - from a known store/official seller only. I don't go for the best price; I buy at a good price I'm sure is legitimate, with genuine warranty.

Oh! One more thing: it's actually worked out in your favor that the seller didn't send to your actual address with signature on delivery. The seller negated their seller protection by doing so.

You acted quickly as soon soon as your suspicions were raised, and that's stood you in good stead. The seller - who on all the evidence is a 100% genuine con artist - may not have profited at all. Hopefully other buyers have been contacted by eBay.

Going by what's happened to the Op and another buyer that came to the boards,(both who had to contact eBay

and start a dispute to get their money back it's a possibility that eBay hasn't contacted anyone and that the

scammer might get away with ripping the other buyers off).

This should've been straight forward the same as the way it was in the past,(a scammer/hijacker gets all their

"live and sold" listings removed and so there are no sales and eBay refunds all buyers within one day).

No need for any dispute.

By not following that procedure eBay is seen as being part of the scam,stubborn_smiley_by_mirz123-d4bt0te_zps12f1a5a3.gif

I hope at least one of the buyers contacted ACORN so the seller can be prosecuted. Who knows how many other times they've tried the same thing, and how many buyers just wore it this time.

If the account was hijacked then Acorn wont be able to do anything,(the account has received feedback from

two sellers so it looks like the account has been returned to the account holder).

That first feedback comment they received before the latest two is what the hijacker used as feedback for the

ones they scammed,(Hope to deal with you again. Thank you).
