And lets not forget Ebay's cut in all this PB GSP arrangement. Have to factor that in to the exhorborant costs of the programme.

What is eBay's cut?
I doubt it would be a lot.

Hey, mate. Daffy started this thread over 4 years ago and hasn't been on the boards for 10 months.
So it is unlikely he will reply to you. I will give it a shot, however -
Mate, I suggest you do some research, but generally what it says is what it costs. Unless it is a prohibited import (in which case what it says is what it costs but you won't get the goods) or needs to be fumigated (in which case you pay for that or you don't get the goods).
There is plenty of information, even on the boards, in the many threads opened about the GSP.

^^^ Sorry, I wrote that on my phone and reading it back it doesnt make much sense.
The question is
If an item is damaged beyond repair shipped through Global Shipping what steps can I take for a refund ?
This is the first time Ive recieved a damaged item, I cant imagine its the sellers responsabilty for a refund ?
Thanks in advance 🙂

Hi , hoping someone can help,
Revived an item from the USA shipped through global shipping and has arrived damaged.
Usually I'd open up a case against the seller, but is it the same process with global shipping ?
I've taken photos of the horrendous packaging which was done by global shipping and not the seller.
Thanks in advance 🙂
Hi tastetaste2, I can relate to this. One time I purchase these ultra rare video tapes through a US seller. The first time I dealt with him he was able to close the auction, re-list the item again and send it via USPS. Item arrived in good time, well packed. The next time, he had 2 more of these VHS tapes. He tried to list it as USPS but it didn't work the second time. OK, never mind, I just really wanted the tapes. Well, got sent via Global Shipping. They didn't arrive quickly. I had problems with Fed Ex wanting personal details about me. They were threatening to send them back. Then finally when I got them, they were poorly packed. Yes Pitney Bowes repacked them. Luckily they were OK. They could easily have been damaged though.
Another time, I bought a rare box of DVD's from a seller. I asked for it to be sent via USPS, but it came via Pitney Bowes. The items had been repacked and not very good I might add. One of the DVDs was so damaged it looked like it had been through a war. The seller was real good and she just replaced the box set for me.
Not too sure what to do in your case. Maybe open up a PayPal case if you haven't.
:
Pitney Bowes isn't about them taking pride in their work. It is a middle man that wormed its way between seller and buyer when there was no need for it. None at al! Bad news all the way, and it has upped the price, in some cases triple quadruple the post cost.
Just imagine the process of a worker being paid by his boss. Pay clerk comes and hands the worker the pay packet of $900 per week. This carries on for years. Then one day another party comes in and inserts itself between the pay clerk and the worker and takes a 10% cut. In fashion this is what we have here! And it sickens me. We all suffer!
An Orwellian nightmare!

Taste waited 3 days for this sage advice?
Thought you had experience with the GSP - turns out, not so much with the dispute process, just whining about how bad it is.
