My experience with global shipping.
- I won the item and paid for it plus the seller's postage cost to Global shipping
- I paid global shipping seperately to send to AU. It seemed reasonable as the item was large
- I followed it on a complicated trip from West to East States.
- It was accepted by Global Shipping.
- Two days later it was rejected as being oversize.
- Three days later I had a refund from PayPal for the complete amount.
- The purchase price
- The sellers post charge
- The charge from Global
Happy with that but is the seller now going to fork out for sending the item AND the return cost to him?
Maybe if that happens to others, Sellers may well opt out in the future.
I think that I was lucky that the seller stuffed up in the size initially.

Yep!
I have started sending messages to sellers as of now as you state.
I have also sent a message to the seller of my failed purchase asking how the return from Global freight has impacted him/her.
After all, someone has to take payments and ownership after my complete refund.
No reply yet, I will let all know if I get something.

I have been waiting since Nov4, 2013 for a refund from Ebay Global shipping program. I was overcharged $49 and and received the following response from Ebay Global shipping program:
"I'm contacting you from eBay's Global Shipping Program department. I wanted you to know that we are aware that you had not received your refund for shipping for the transaction involving eBay Item #: 300527927446 and 290536046506 . I'm sorry you had not received a refund as of yet, but I wanted to let you know that I'm aware of it and I have taken steps to get the refund processed.
The seller notified me that this was happening. I wanted to let you know that this is not the seller's fault and to please consider this when you are deciding what feedback you want to leave for your seller. The fact that you did not receive the shipping charges as a refund right away is eBay's fault. I'm sorry this happened.
I have requested that PayPal refund you the shipping charges. Typically refunds are processed within 24 to 48 hours, but please note that it can take up to 7 to 10 days for the refund to be back in your PayPal account.
I regret this occurred. Your experience on eBay is our #1 priority.
Thanks,
eBay Global Shipping Specialist"
Since then, I have had no further response from them, I am still waiting for my refund. This is a total rip off and I am looking for avenues to take this further. I am aware of that this is a problem shared by many other Ebay users, what can be done about this total disregards for honouring their promises and blatant theft of my money? who is responsible for this and who can I contact to file a formal complaint?

Have just had the worst experience ever with global shipping program which has resulted in a lost parcel. I will NEVER buy another item from a seller who uses this form of postage.

Do you think you could use black for your posts, please?
I have my monitor set up to be able to read everything in a really large size and that green is horrible, I have a problem with glare and the green makes it hard to read your posts.

Since then, I have had no further response from them despite sending several emails, I am still waiting for my refund. I am aware of that this is a problem shared by many other eBay users and something needs to be done about this total disregard for honouring your promises and blatant theft of our money, Who is ultimately responsible for this mess if not the CEO?
Regards, Monica Bennett
This problem needs to be fixed, as buyers and sellers we need to urge eBay to do the right thing and respond appropriately to our feedback. I will keep all who reads my posts updated re. any future developments.

As soon as parcels enter Australia by DHL they are picked up by Australia Post.
Not strictly true.....if DHL is being used as a courier service they have their own couriers who deliver the parcels.
If they are acting in their capacity as the German Mail Service they pass the items to Australia Post. DHL also carries mail (usually large parcls) for the USPS....these are also passed to Australia Post.
I cannot vouch for mail services from other countries but I imagine that DHL has a finger in other pies as well.
