I recently bought a casio G-Shock MudMaster GG-1000 -1A described as used comes in the Casio tin. It looked brand new but with no plastics and no books, just the Casio tin. He had sold a few and has sold some since but it looked great when it arrived. I am a long term watch enthusiast and this is a very high quality FAKE! I first got a bit suspect when I downloaded the official instruction manual and it didn't do some things the way it should do them. Then I noticed the second hand a bit jittery sometimes?
But the thing that topped it off in the end was a youtube video I found of a guy that had it happen and he describes in detail the differences, which are very small. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oFd7fFT5hdg)
I have contacted the seller who claims he didn't know and was shocked? You can make up your own mind on that one. You will notice a whole bunch of this model have been listed from a lot of new sellers. The guy that sold me mine has agreed to give me a full refund so I am waiting to see if that happens before I take further action.
Buy from a long well established Casio seller that offers them new with everything and you will be fine.

Yes I know how it works as I have been around for many years and seen it all. I don't want the watch as it's a fake. I just want my money back and he gets the watch back. My reason for the thread was a warning to others.
Have a great Christmas!

You will not get a refund until you return the watch to the seller.
You can't have both the watch and the refund.

Lyndal, if one can prove that it is a fake, I don't believe it would need to be sent back.
A letter from a reputable watch shop would do the trick, for example.
One would need to advise the seller that it is fake and then also open a case for a counterfeit item.
I'm sure there's an Ebay procedure on fakes around somewhere but I'm too lazy to go look.

The OP makes no mention of an official dispute through ebay. He states that the seller has promised a refund and he is waiting to see if the refund eventuates before taking any further action.
If the OP wants to keep the watch and get a refund then he should go through official channels and not just expect the seller to give a refund without returning the goods.
How often do scammers demand full refunds when there is nothing wrong. There is nothing to say the OP is not trying it on.

Different to the one they are claiming is a fake though.

Hey everyone. I am going through the normal eBay procedures.
As previously mentioned I only started the thread to warn others. I don't usually come to the Community discussion boards, hence the reason I marked my own post as a solution? I just assumed that would close it?
And to answer the other question about a G-Shock I currently have listed it is a totally different model that I purchased from a very ethical Casio Dealer on eBay and came with a Tax Invoice etc which will be supplied to the buyer.
Cheers and have a great Christmas!
