Recently I purchased a replacement lithium battery for my Dyson vacuum cleaner.
The seller advertised a 3-year warranty.
However, within 6 months it went dead. The seller ignored my complaint.
I have learned from my mistake: such warranty in E-bay is useless.
Moreover, I have learned that Ebay cannot punish the seller.
I believe the seller is still advertising procuct the same way until now.

You cannot name and shame on the boards. A moderator will remove the name.
How on earth did you think an overseas seller was going to honour a warranty?
Let alone a Chinese seller.
You had 180 days to open an Item not as described case in Paypal.
Always buy from a reputable authorised dealer.

I know that they will remove the seller's name.
But at least some have read my message
I think Ebay should punish such sellers by downgrading their rating.
All sellers want to maintain their rating as nobody would consider buying from those below 98%.

You didn't read any of the dozens of existing threads on this subject before you bought so what makes you think anyone will read and benefit from your warning?

You would be surprised how many don't even bother to check.

Unfortunately you cannot expect to pay less than a 1/4 of the price of a genuine one and expect it to last or do anything a seller says.
Lithium batteries can be dangerous and as much as the genuine price is not cheap it will last and not be a potential fire problem.

I didn't see the seller's name but even if I had, I doubt it would be of much help.
Think of your audience. The small group of boardies here are mostly people who have been around ebay for a while and would rather step on nails than buy their expensive electricals from Chinese sellers, so you're speaking to the converted.
As for nobody considering buying from a seller below 98%, that's not necessarily true either. Lots of buyers wouldn't even know this little messageboard exists, let alone that they can check a seller's feedback. And in the real world, a score of eg 95% would probably look good to a lot of people.
I've bought from sellers with scores under 98%, without having any issues, but it depends on the feedback. For some smaller sellers, just one or two dodgy buyers can pull their rating way down.

Sorry to hear of your issue. Can I ask where the seller is please?

Yes, I saw the post by Imastawka. But the OP hasn't said that it was a Chinese seller. I want to know if it is or isn't. So until the seller confirms or denies, we don't know where the seller is!
