Beware of seller; <Removed>

After buying an item from <Removed>, it took me 20 phone calls, lots of messages, I was told lies, given false tracking numbers, then finally got a refund.

I left <Removed> neg feedback, only to find Ebay removed the feedback i left, the seller was back on 100% positive.

I contacted ebay saying that was my honest opinion of the trade with <Removed>, to be told <Removed> has a managed account, and any neg feedback can be removed...........is this legal?

Naturally, ive been watching<Removed> they have 7 neg feedbacks, all of which have disappeared and think-out are back on 100%

So, in my opinion, Ebay are allowing feedback and score manipulation, which is against Ebay policy, so Ive been told many times on the phone by the liars in "customer care".

So now i dont leave feedback because theres no point, if the seller can just get it removed.

Has anyone else experienced this Ebay CON?

Because they have moved them from the original boards to the correct ones. Which pops them to the top, regardless of when the last post was.

Re: Beware of seller; <Removed>

I've had this problem too with one of my competitors and in the last 12 months I have watched at least 50 negative feedbacks being removed from both of their accounts which sell identical products.  After digging a bit deeper into this we discovered that;

  • Ebay were able to see all the feedback that had been removed and acknowledged that is shouldn't have been done
  • The accounts were being managed by an account manager in Singapore who was removing all the feedback
  • We found out the name of that account manager who was removing neg feedback
  • We tried phoning the eBay Singapore office but were not able to be put through to him to discuss these problems
  • We made multiple complaints to eBay, but to this day feedback is still being removed and the account manager still hasn't effectively managed make this seller(s) comply with eBay policy.
  • I was also informed by another source that it was quite common for account managers Singapore and Malaysia to accept gifts and hospitality from the accounts they manage in return for getting negative feedback removed.

So as a seller who does their best to maintain the highest standards and customer satisfaction, we at least deserve the right to compete on a level playing field, but when competitors feedback is being proactively removed and they lie about their item location, the only thing that ends up happening is that customers are getting screwed.

eBay's whole business model relies on buyer feedback to be a trusted place to buy stuff, but when this sort of thing is happening people won't buy stuff again on eBay and everybody loses.

Yes Ebay did that to me too after the seller behaved obstructively, belligerently and abusively at a personal level. My feedback comments were factually correct and I clearly had a negative experience. So yes it looks like certain sellers are operating under a kind of protection racket by Ebay. In my case the parcel did not arrive. This has never happened with any other UK parcel. The seller failed to provide a shipping number on the purchase page so I opened an INR case after 3 weeks had lapsed. The seller then provided a shipping number for 2C Small Parcel (unsigned) which was for an item posted two weeks after purchase and delivered to a UK RM DO 200 miles from the correct UKRM DO. The seller had previously stated he had posted the item two weeks before that on the Sunday? This number was uploaded and has in effect tricked Ebay into thinking my parcel had been delivered. After 4 weeks had lapsed I sought Ebay intervention. The seller was then allowed to add a second shipping number for the same purchase order but this number is shown as undelivered in the Ebay order details page, with no scanner update available and no message delivered available ! So as a result the order page shows two items when only one item was purchased. What this has done however is treck Ebay’s computer into giving feedback to UK RM to record Item 2 as delivered because that is what the purchase page says. Whereas on the indiviual item page it is being shown as not delivered and not even in transit. The seller as clearly learnt how to manipulate the system and fool everyone in Ebay except the purchaser. And despite numerous appeals to Ebay to fix this one gets the same tired Robo-respone from the customer centre and have a nice day! Another clue pointing to foul play is the delivery point in my case was a private mail exchange that stores and forwards parcels and I have found after auditing the parcels delivered over the past few months that not one standard UK mail parcel is scanned. They only have time to scan "signed for" parcels with oraneg labels. So not all parcels get scanned on delivery as of today December 2019 at every address. But what we also have is sellers who know how to turn black into white and run rings around Ebay staff and Ebay’s system using two shipping numbers.

As Footnote: The “two shipping number seller scam” results in the Ebay purchase page on MyEbay showing just one item purchased with the delivery date of the first shipping number and delivered status overriding everything but with the second shipping number along side it. If one however goes to the order details page on MyEbay there are two items recorded with two pictures of the item purchased numbered as Items 1/2 and 2/2. Ebay allows the seller to do this even though if one opens out the shipping details for item 2 it clearly shows that the scanner was never updated from the time of dispatch and was never delivered. This is information provided directly from UK Royal Mail computer because Ebay computer has access to UK Royal Mail shipping data. The shipping number for item 2 is one suspects for the parcel that never arrived. As explained above the first shipping item is for another unrelated parcel from the sellers records that was known to have a delivered message returned by the UK Postie scanner but 2 weeks after the original due by delivery date stated on the Ebay purchase page. It is grossly negligent of any online business to allow sellers to do this and to allow this to happen to any purchaser. It's fraudulent conduct plain and simple. Also my audit of UK parcels delivered to the address specified showed the UK Post was only scanning 50% of the signed for parcels and 0% of the unsigned standard mail parcels incoming to the address provided. So compounding matters is a Mail system which only tells you “when” a parcel was delivered and in what postal area but not specifically “where” in the postal district, “what” specific address and “who” it was delivered to. UK Law and UK Royal Mail state that only a signed for service provides proof of delivery. This one experience has completelt shattered my faith in Ebay and UK Royal Mail and ruined my Christmas. As a consequence I have not made any more purchases on Ebay UK after the 9th of November 2019 and have stopped buying on Ebay UK for the foreseeable future. This is the same date of purchase for the parcel that never arrived and the parcel Ebay does not want to know anything about or is willing to do anything about.

My mum was a school teacher.      A very stern one, I might add.

And she always said, when writing something, as a rule,  if you can't say a sentence without taking a breath, then bung in a comma.

Spoiler
Well, I may have paraphrased that last bit.    She didn't ever say 'bung'    pat.gif

Re: Beware of seller; <Removed>

Hi,

ebay can revise negatives for sellers if the seller feels they have been unfairly dealt with, occasionally sellers do have to deal with scammers.

There are only a number of times that a seller can have unfair feedback removed, I think it is around 4 times a year.

I always check the feedback score before purchasing and if you look on the right hand side at the top of the feedback response list you can see how many negative feedbacks have been revised if any.

After that I weigh my chances and go by overall feedback before purchasing.

If you haven't already you can report the seller you have a problem with officially to ebay, eventually if enough people report them they can be closed down.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards, Jenny
