Purchased an item from the UK for GBP20 - went to pay and on checkout it listed the item at GBP20 and shipping at GBP21 - the shipping was shaded however, and I could not complete the purchase due to an error message telling me to change address or contact the seller.
Which I did
He could not send me an invoive either - his ebay block was an wordly explation about the GSP, and how I have pay seperately to ebay and the seller. Has was planning to use Royal Mail as he always had.
So he can't sell, and I can't buy...
Live help of no use.
The best solution it seems is to have it sent to friend in the UK > then onto AU.
Never had an issue before - Royal Mail has been effective and not too costly
Any thoughts??
Cheers

The seller must opt out of the GSP if he wants to send to you via Royal Mail.
There are instructions on the UK site telling seller how to opt out.

I keep the steps for opting out handy (a UK version and US version) so that I can just copy and paste the info to any
seller who is willing to opt out but not sure how to!

Seller needs to opt out of GSP
Send them these instructions -
(My eBay summary page)
account > site preferences > shipping preferences > Offer the Global Shipping Program > edit > no
