Re: Buying on eBay

It is the seller's responsibility to pack such a way that item arrives safe; if it was not packed properly it does not matter what sort of insurance was paid for; AP will not cover it.

If you are the buyer lodge PP claim for the missing items, if you are the seller you may as well do partial refund or replace the missing items.

You will need to check with the seller whether they insured it for its full worth or not. Have you made a complaint to AP?

Yes the postpak mailer is tough package and was sealed well and time and date stamped at post office.so it would be no good to lodge PP claim. Waiting for Aust Post to respond to claim. Can you only claim $100 with registered post? Thanks for comments

Re: Buying on eBay

Yes, you can only claim up to $100 compensation for registered post.

Re: Buying on eBay

I don't even know if anyone would receive anything from AP as the item was a $100 note that is still legal currency & you paid $247 for it.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but I think you need to open a Paypal dispute ASAP for item not received. And you'll need to phone Paypal & explain.

Good luck with this one.

Re: Buying on eBay

Sorry, I didn't check what purchase was.

Neither registered post or extra cover compensation cover bank notes.

Yes, agree with foxy, open paypal claim asap.

However, given the package was torn open when delivered, I would be ringing Australia Post central to report the damage to this parcel anyway, given its contents and the condition when it arrived.

If it was registered post you have to sign for it - if it was a visibly torn tough bag, and you signed for it indicating your acceptance, then you there will likely be little recourse through any avenue.

Re: Buying on eBay

When you open a Paypal dispute there is a specific option for missing items although you can hardly blame the seller in this instance unless you think they sent a deliberately damaged package which is highly unlikely.

Neither you or the seller are covered by AP for the loss of a banknote, arguably the seller should have found another delivery service that would have covered them for sending money.
