Hi all, I've just purchased a PDF download of a couple of manuals from the US (allowable there) and when going through checkout there was no option to just pay for the download.
There won't be anything posted to me, so does anyone have any ideas on how to get back the postage component of the transaction?
I'm kicking myself (heartily) I didn't get the seller to invoice me directly for it....................c'est la vie.......................I'll know better if there's a next time.
Blardy GSP......................grrrr.
On the positive side even with Pitney Bowes take they were still miles cheaper than any of the others on offer.

I see this is not the first time you are on the discussion boards and perhaps should have known better to have waited for an invoice.
All you can do now is hope the seller will refund the postage component.
Feel free to come back here for more advice if the seller is not helpful.
(being facitious BTW)

The only problem there Kopes is that the seller doesn't get the postage part of it, he only gets the item price Pitney Bowes snaffles the postage without him seeing it.
Feel free to come back with furthur helpful hints mate lol..............."all for one"

What the?? You must've really wanted whatever it is, to not realise about the
GSP component!
Can't help, but hoping someone else can

Well the price was over $100 cheaper than some of the others Stalks, hence the reason I'm not too worried about it.
But it still smarts that PB gets my money for doing SFA.

Would it be possible to ask for a cancellation and get the seller to opt
out of the GSP and then invoice you with free postage?
I'm sure if you told them about how much the postage was, they would see
the silliness of it all
Just a thought.
To opt out US sellers only have to go into

Yep, I thought about that Stalks, but I didn't want to inconvenience the seller for what was, in reality, my mistake.
I suspect that they are one of the many sellers that have been opted into the GSP without knowing it.
Tippy, in effect the 2 manuals came in the one email - one was a freebee from the seller and not in the listing - so the combined postage didn't come into it.
Just to clarify, the manuals were for my John Deere ride-on mower and the important one, the service manual, can usually only be bought from the manufacturer at a pretty hefty price tag.

Did you know that most manuals can be downloaded free from the internet, even when you have to pay a hefty price from the manufacturer? I did say most, not all. I've only ever had to buy one. The rest I either viewed online or downloaded for free. Did you not get one with it? Or did you buy a second hand ride on? Which model did you get?

The manual I was after is the service manual and I couldn't find them on the internet as a free download.
The ride-on came with the house so no manuals for it, I'd already found the owners manual as a free download but I needed the wiring diagram and solutions for an electrical problem - and that's only in the service manual.
BTW it's a JD L100 - and it's my BFF down here in the bush (apart from the incorrigible incomparable Batgirl of course)
Oh, and the new manuals I was sent have COLOUR PICS in them......................so there...............yay me
