Why are sellers allowed to tell you that an item will arrive in 5 days and after you agree to buy and pay for the item.
The seller changes the delivery time to 14 days.

If a seller tells me that the item is located in Australia, I expect the item to be delivered in a reasonable time and
not have to wait for it to be delivered from China.
Seller located in Australia (Melbourne) item located in Melbourne.
There are a lot of similar posts saying, Item was listed as being located in Australia but was sent from China.

For good reason, it is VERY common for that to happen
Many, many ads on eBay *say* the item will be sent from Australia, But
One look at the seller's feedback shows they are registered in China and they will have hundreds of negs from buyers saying they lied about where the item was going to be sent from
There are *some* sellers who are in Australia but dropship from China and fail to mention that in their ad
People here have no way of knowing which version of a fibber this seller is without the item number

Not really the issue. The problem is that the delivery date range is given and then immediately, after the payment is made, the delivery date is blown out. If they knew that a minute before, they should have updated the dates in the description. That is the frustration, not the postal delivery delays. Well, that is my frustration:)

The delivery dates are calculated by eBay, not the seller.
The seller sets their handling time and the postage service/s offered. Which can vary depending on where you are and the service you select.
