I've found Global to be inflexible, expensive and frustrating. I've just had an item sent through it and of course it's under multiple carriers and the number I was given by WNDirect cannot be tracked. I've therefore paid for a Priority Mail service and received what was First Class without the tracking. I live in Australia and First Class International through the good old U.S. Post can now be tracked here. It is SO much better than what I just experienced and costs me so much less, but when a seller locks themselves into a Global listing, it appears that they can no longer override the invoice so I've just paid double for this rubbish! So not happy!!

That explains it. I tune out when anything to do with politics comes on tv. I did notice his ads where he "borrowed" Donald Trump's phrase. I hope they sue the pants off him!

Please, not the pants... There are some sights we should never see.

So sad!
Who knows. GSP may or may not be here in Australia one day. Let's hope for a "not".@brerrabbit585 wrote:
Your logic isn't very good. If someone has make an offer on a listing and someone contacts them trying to get cheaper shipping, doesn't that automatically tell the seller that they're not likely to pay full price OR the current shipping, so why would a seller think they may as hold out for a higher price just because someone asks for cheaper shipping?
As for your last line about hoping gsp never comes to Australia, why should you get to inflict your views on others and stop others from being able to safely sell their goods overseas?
I don't know why I bothered wasting my time saying anything. You always twist everything to suit yourself. You'd make a fantastic politician!
Rabbit, I'll put it simply for you. If a seller has an item on Best offer (IE:: a Lou Rawls autographed LP) and someone (IE: John Smith) comes and asks if the shipping can be changed from the overpriced Pitney Bowes Global Shipping to the much more reasonably priced USPS, the seller as been alterted to the fact that the person (John Smith) asking the question has more than a passing interest in the item. Also if John Smith asks if the seller to do the same with some other items on Best Offer so he can combine them, the seller knows more about John Smith than he would have if John Smith never asked. He will most likely hold out for a higher offer knowing there is real interest on the part of John Smith.
And about me hoping GSP never comes to Australia. Well, you may hope for it, I don't! And you may be surprised that me hoping for something is in now way inflicting mt views on anybody. Yes young fella, there is a big difference between hoping and inficting!
You do more twisting than I do. The blanket you thinly veil your ad hominem attack has just about cocooned you. You'll probably have to unwind and you'll be twisting anti-clockwise this time around.
Politician. Yeah, I would like to think I would make a good politician, but I'd tell the boss to take a running jump at himself.. Other problem is I don't like racists and people who serve the wealthy at the expense of others so I dare say I wouldn't last long.

I'll put it simply for you. If someone makes any sort of an offer on an item the seller is allerted to the fact that someone is interested in it - but that doesn't mean that they will pay more than what they've offered. Sellers get many offers that never result in a sale so I'm sure most sellers with MAO on their listings wouldn't automatically assume when they get an offer that they should hold out for a higher price than they'd originally planned.
If a potential buyer asks whether the seller will consider a different type of postage, that alerts the seller to the fact that the buyer does care about the total amount that they spend and won't pay just any old price to get what they want.
Going by your reasoning, anyone who tries to sell their house and has someone actually look through the house would assume that because there's any sort of interest it's automatically worth more than they originally thought. All I can say is that you must desperately want things to be so afraid of sellers holding out for a fair price.
You talk about not liking racists but you use a lot of terms that are condescending, like calling me "young fella" (both of which happen to be incorrect). I've seen you do it to plenty of others in the past and they thought the same about it as I do. I had to laugh at the rest of what you said. I've seen you attack the characters of others and been quite blatant about it. You think some segments of the population are fair game but not others.

I honestly hope that GSP DOES come to Australia. I stopped selling overseas years ago because of too many dramas. If I can be void of those dramas, I'll gladly sell to "a domestic address in whatever city in Australia". The difference is, I'll insert the correct weight and dimensions, which makes the total postage cost a pooofteenth more than regular post. I will also add in my listings that if someone overseas wants multiple items, let me know and I'll create a new listing for them with all the items they want. I have asked a few US sellers to do that and they were more than happy to do so. It meant they got to sell their items and they had a happy customer.
4channel, what records are you into and what video tapes do you like? I'm going to start unloading some tapes soon as I am over burdened with them. I'm not getting rid of all, just a few that I'm not interested in any more. I am also going to the city in March to help sort through my late father in laws stuff and I know he had a stack of records. Most of what he had is not my cup of tea, but I refuse to let them get chucked in the bin either. You can PM me what you like (a PM rather than an eBay message. I can't reply to eBay messages on this account). I will probably list most of his records on one of my accounts, but if I know what you like, if there is something there, I'd be happy to sell direct to you.
Despite our differences, we have that one thing in common and I know selling to you would mean they'd be going to a great home.

It's all about the ball being in the sellers court. Simply, the seller knows there's an interest that is more than passing and the buyer looking for cheaper post has no bearing on what they're willing to pay. Actually the seller could reson that the buyer would have more money to offer if they're saving as twenty bucks on postage by changing from GSP to USPS.

I don't want anything of the sort!

Yeah I don't like racists. Also I was calling rabbit young fella, not you! And you haven't seen me do it to plenty in the past! I did call k1ooo-slr-sales "young k1ooo-slr-sales" once and he laughed about it. However he did correct me on calling him "my friend, cobber and amigo. Fair enough, I didn't call him that anymore.
I have a friend who's in her 50s abd I call her young lady. I have another friend of mediterranian descent who calls me "young man". I call my brother "young dude" and I often call people amigo, cobber etc. Even once called a policeman cobber. Actually more than once. Nothing nasty. Just me and my way. I love those terms. And if someone wants to call me cobber, amigo, compadre, young fella, old goat, bro', brother, bruss or whatever I'm fine with that.
And as for me attacking the character of others. I don't as you say. But, when someone fires off at me I give the same back.

I canโt ever recall 4channel posting anything that I consider โracistโ, and I have tangled with him on many occasions.
I did did laugh at being referred to as โyoungโ.
I did chide him for referring to me as โmy friendโ and when I asked him not to do that he did start with the cobber/amigo bs . . . . . . . . . to which I replied by calling him d!ck once.

GSP is the biggest bucked of *$&#. I am going to refuse to purchase from any seller that uses it in the future.
shipping costs are outrageously high.
shipping from US to AUS is soooo slow. It took 16 days for an item to arrive, whilst a purchase from a normal site took 5 days.
The idiots also confiscated a set of defibrillator pads telling me they are illegal in Australia! **bleep**. I am a health professional and could have proven this if they asked. But that is beside the point. Anyone can buy them. They are a first aid item!
arghh, it does my head in!
