I just found out the eBay guarantee is only 30 days
I donโt think this is good enough by the time messages are conveyed between buyer and seller the 30 days disappear very quickly
Is 30 days real buyer protection?
I think it should be 3 months
who agrees with me?
cheers
Peter

30 days after the final ETA of the item should be more than enough time to open a dispute.
Too many buyers come to the boards complaining that they let the time elapse - usually by the seller stalling them.
So no, I don't agree with you.

Yes it is real and more than enough time
There is no need to play games with the seller
I am not sure why you only 'just found out' it's hardly a secret or hidden (you should be aware of at least the very basics of buying like this, anyway)
Three months?
Seriously?
Three months for the buyer to do as they please with the item, no longer need it and then open a dispute
How about no?
Buyers already have ALL the power , if they choose not to use it within a month, that is their own choice

If you can spam the board with your question, I can spam you with my answer.
Why does it take you 30 days to go backwards and forwards.
Send one message, if no reply within 1 day, lodge guarantee request with Ebay.
If unsatisfactory reply after 1st message lodge guarantee request with Ebay,
If you are farting around with the seller more than a week, you are wasting your time.
Leave it at 30 days.

I guess I am naive I expected he would do the right thing as he kept replying to my messages and sending me freight details
All turned out to be bogus
If you have messages going backwards and forwards 30days is not long
cheers

Ok, so was there a tracking number provided ?
If not, then if you paid by Paypal you could open a dispute in their "Resolution Centre" or if you paid by credit card you could do a chargeback. But DO NOT open both disputes at the same time, or they'll both be closed against you.
