EBay Spam

The eBay spam emails have stooped to a new low. Last night I put an item on my watch list. An auction item that ends in 2 days. Tonight I got an email asking if i was still interested in that item. It's on my watch list isn't it?

Now the funny one. Posted some items yesterday. I accessed one of the sold items on the app to get the buyers address. I posted them off and uploaded the tracking number. Tonight I get an email informing me that this item was no longer available and gave me 2 other suggestions.......both my items on that account. The item no longer available was my sold item that I opened to get the buyers address. It now seems the bots can't differentiate your own items and someone elses. The bots have been smoking the woopy weed again.

It's bad enough they spam you with items you've looked at briefly and click out because you aren't interested in buying them, but now spamming you with your own items is getting a bit much. I think I've got a pretty good idea that my items are no longer available.

Me thinks eBay techs have been on the happy juice.............

Why have multiple threads about the same topic ??

Simply because once a thread is over 12 months old with the way policies change over time (not just eBay's policies) the original post can be outdated and bumping them can lead to confusion by members.

CURRENT policies are what matter, not outdated ones. There have been glaring examples of this where threads started many years ago are bumped, and members in the know have to correct the claims or assertions of the new posters.

Re: EBay Spam

You are right Padi, old threads should not be bumped as info can be outdated. This one being a prime example. The spam has got WORSE! I looked at something last year on one of my accounts, which was an item mentioned on the forums, where someone wanted help. I am STILL getting search ideas about XYZ item, and new listings, old listings, sold listings, dead people listings. Even clearing out the searched items on the eBay home page doesn't stop it.

Don't get me started on the permanent 20% offer on the big names, like the Good Guys. Enough already! I can get those emails half a dozen times every day. Thank goodness I know how to do bulk delete in the email.

Re: EBay Spam

Yes, where ebay 'policy' changes then old threads can become irrelevent.

I guess ebay's ( optin ) spamming 'policy' may have changed with respect to intensity

but I don't intend to start another thread.

Have a great day.
