Are you the buyer or the seller?

Is the address you have in eBay up to date and correct, and matching the address you give in PayPal?
There are a couple of threads on the forum about eBay showing a buyer's old address in the item sold email sent to sellers via eBay (where the buyer has not updated their address in eBay)

The address in ebay is the buyer's registered address and not necessarily where they want the item sent to.
The address advised by paypal is the address that the buyer wants the item delivered to and is not necessarily the address that they have as their ebay registered address.
My advice is to send to the paypal address while you are getting 2 emails. When you only get the ebay advised address.....well, good luck with that.

EBay advised seller of one address then advised buyer of different address. How can this happen, as paypal address and delivery address are correct but EBay gave wrong address.
As you've posted in the buying forum I'll assume you're the buyer in this instance.
A couple of weeks ago eBay started including a shipping address in their confirmation emails to sellers, unfortunately for some buyers they're grabbing the incorrect address where multiple addresses are recorded on that user's account, and so if the seller goes by the eBay email (and not the PayPal one) it can be sent to the wrong location.
Not really the seller's fault - eBay's email explicitly states "send to this address", but they're being given the wrong details.
I started a thread in the seller's forum here if you want to read more about it, but basically eBay are aware of the problem and are yet to fix it.

Yep, this is annoying. Especially since I didn't even know that the "registered address" was even listed in my account, and had to do some digging in order to find it. It also seems to be a bit of an invasion of privacy, as it's not marked in any way as a delivery address?
I ordered something last week and the seller sent to the registered address, which is an address I moved away from over 4 years ago, and have never had anything sent to. Now I have to chase it up with Australia Post and pay additional money to get it transferred to my local post office. Is eBay going to cover the cost of this error?

That is a very good reason for updating your home address when you move....you would not have to run around to get your parcels.

Use eBay online chat to ask eBay to cover the cost of redelivery - if you are polite, but firm, they should agree to do it as the error is theirs, not yours, and not the sellers.

Except eBay shouldn't have been using that address for a delivery in the first place.

Yep, my point exactly! I've never had anything sent to that address, so it was a surprise that it was even still in my account, not to mention I had to dig a bit in order to even find it.
I got on chat to eBay just now and they provided me with an email address to send any receipts to. It's only $6, but it's more about principle. I also don't want to drag the seller into this, as it wasn't their fault that the information was incorrect in the email. If the item never turns up (and doesn't get returned to the seller) I am definitely going to make a fuss about it and hope that the seller doesn't lose money.
