Global Shipping Program Pitney Bowes

so i buy an item on the 28th may from the USA and its shipped via you know who. GSP

ive got a lovely tracking number, says it was uploaded.

but can i find my item anywhere?

nope. nothing since day one.

my delivery dates are 10th to 22nd june.

so i'm waiting.

btw, the item would weigh about 200grams and cost $42 postage! i would never charge a customer that much.

i only agreed as the item is very rare.

bitney bowes is the pits for service, why ebay want their delivery company to be so terrible is anyones guess.

That's most unusual for the tracking to not update. GSP is usually very good for tracking

Re: Global Shipping Program Pitney Bowes

YAY!

my item arrived today.

no warnings it was coming.

it was repacked by PB and who ever handled it used a sharp knife to open the original padded bag (which it was still in) cutting into the plastic bag the item was sold in originally but luckily missing the actual item.

so PB opened the Padded Bag the seller posted it, then put the opened padded bag into another padded bag and posted it to me!

all this indreased delivery time to a week longer than it was supposed to take if it took the longest time that ebay has said.

dont make much sense to me.

I once had customs open a package and cut the contents. ๐Ÿ˜ž

Whew, that was close.

I bought a box set of DVDs from the US. Repacked badly by Pitney, 2 discs were damaged. Once unplayable. Luckily the seller  had 1 extra set and replaced the dvds for me.

I purchased 2 sealed ultra rare VHS tapes. They were poorly packed and I had issues with delivery plus a threat to send items back to seller etc.  Just a bad set up all round Oh and the double the normal postage cost wasn't that nice either.

this was definately PB cutting the original bag as the new bag had PB stamps all over it.

they really just get anyone buying that hard to get item, if the item was readily available i would never choose a seller using PB.

the fact i am willing to go with PB shows the item is not easy to get.

Yeah I hear you there. BTW: I'm glad that your items weren't damaged. Like I said, that was close!  Also the re-packing can increase the risk of theft. Some sellers like to slip in a surprise bonus as well. I've had that and I have added a surprise gift on occasion as well. Well, those could be taken out as well. Padi, a member here (I think it was Padi) spoke about an electric guitar being confliscated and then sold later on a Pitney website. Wow, that's disgusting!

Yeah, I avoid this horrid service at all cost but there may be another once in a lifetime item that I'll never see again so that will be a dilema for me. Do I pay double , triple postage, (risk damage with the proven shoddy re-packing or grit my teeth) and let it go?
