Yes, if it was sold to you as authentic

As mentioned prior, YES. What was the item number and they may give the readers a heads up. Do not mention the Sellers ID. If it was listed as Authentic and you have found out it's a fake, you have a case. It's not that easy though, as you have to proove that it's a fake.

Contact the seller first to advise the item is a fake and not genuine and depending on their reply should depend how you go about getting a refund.

Either by returning or the seller might just refund knowing it is a genuine fake and selling as authentic.

how do you know its not authentic and did the seller say it was.

first you need to contact your seller with your concerns, and proof if you have it.

if you put in a claim thru Paypal you will have to give written proof to paypal about the authenticity of it.

fakes and returns are not an easy thing to dispute without written proof but your first call is to contact the Seller and get their thoughts on the deal.

if youdo return it make sure it is Registered or Signature on Delivery for your own protectio

if you have to return it overseas it may get a bit more difficult.

Hello OP,

All those Coach bags you are buying - are they all fake, or just one of them?

It'll be near impossible to get that in writing - from the authorised stores - to state that the bag is fake - they  usually never do that.

And even if you did manage to obtain something in writing it would be next to useless as you would then have to convince Ebay or PP that it is the same bag that the seller sent you - not a fake one substituted by you - and taken to the store to confirm that it is a fake.

It has happened to a co worker of mine (someone who works in my department) - and she lost the case with PP.

I'm not for a minute suggesting that's what happened here - but just letting you know that it's not going to be easy.

Those bags you bought were cheap, might be easier to forget about, unless seller agrees to a refund of course - which they may very well do - it'll save you a lot hassle.

If you are absolutely certain it is fake then your first move should be to contact the seller. Keep it polite but businesslike and state that you would like an immediate refund and after you have received it you will send them a photo of the bag having been destroyed. Tell them that if they do not refund within 3 days you will be contacting the rights owner, the police and ebay (if you funded the payment with a credit card mention that you can also initiate a chargeback). QLD police used to have a report site with links to all other states but now it seems they have changed that and each state has their own system for reporting fraud, google will find the correct infor for you.

If the seller is overseas then you can perhaps try the new ebay dispute process but without written proof I don't think you will be able to get away without having to pay the cost of fully trackable postage.

If you are 100% certain your item is a fake the write the seller an email demanding your payment refunded in 24hrs or you will be reporting them to the police for selling counterfeit goods. I have had this happen to me 3 times in the pastt 12 months. I have been refunded immediately all 3 times. I have no time for the **bleep** people in the world and refuse to wait around for a refund after being intentionally ripped off.

If it is a coach bag - you may find this area on the US boards helpful...http://community.ebay.com/t5/Fashion/bd-p/fashion

There are regulars in the US who have particular expertise in coach goods and are very helpful in providing advice if you post very clear photos of your purchase.

Their advice is just that advice only - however it is a very good point to start - prior to paying for authentication documentation.

The main online authentication services they refer to are available world-wide.

Authenticate4u is one of them and for a fee they will provide the accepted documentation you require for paypal or eBay that confirms a Coach bag is fake http://www.authenticate4u.com/Home.html

All that being said, communicate with your seller first, keep it polite and gauge their response to the issue, don't accuse them of being a scammer as they may not have realised that the goods were fake, and if you keep it nice, it might be a straight forward process to obtaining refund.
