It would be an excellent feature for pickup items. The main point being it would be easier and more convenient than pasting to another map site.

Why can't you look up your own map when you know the item location? Why do you need to see the item location anyway?
I have heard of buyers who need their hands held to complete a transaction, but that is ridiculous.

Do you mean how do you find the item location ?

If for any reason I get curious about where a buyer of one of my items actually is located, I just copy and paste their postal address or suburb into Google maps and then I know !! Easy !
The same simple system could be used by buyers.

would be better as a buyer to know what location is of a seller via ip address....
least then you know where your item maybe coming from ....
would not help with dropshipping tho .........

I am wondering whether the OP was referring to map tracking of the item, like a GPS tracking chip put in the parcel so it can be located. Personally, I don't think GPS tracking is not a good idea as someone would have to pay for it to happen, but if the OP comes back we could find out.

I can see the value in a feature like that for pick-up items, but eBay would have to get their item locations right first.
At the moment, postcodes that cover several suburbs have only one default area that eBay will use as the item location, often several km's away from the actual location.

Oftentimes I am only looking for a rough guide on a 75km search where a run up the highway is a lot different to a country adventure.
