How to contact ebay??!!??!!??

I have purcahsed an item that wasleft unattended  after delivery and disappeared.
I have requested the seller to help and the only thing he came up with was to escalate this to ebay.

So I did and now I'm stuck in a process where I have to post back an item I don't have.

Ebay only shows me the option to add a tracking code and doens't let me do anything else.

How is it possible that a giant such as ebay doens't have a dedicated team of customer support specialists?

This is ridicolous.... how do i get to talk or chat with someone that can actually do something?

Thanks

What to you believe eBay can 'do' if you say the item disappeared after it was delivered to your address?

Or the seller for that matter?

It is not up to the seller to investigate an item that was delivered and went missing

The only way eBay could have 'told' you to post the item back would have been if you opened a dispute, there is no 'my item vanished after delivery' option

Has it been left in a 'safe place' (have you looked around

There's nothing the seller or eBay can do if you have had your item pinched (if that is what you are getting at)

Have you contacted Australia Post or the courier responsible for delivering it?

Have you seen proof it was left at your address?

Sounds like it's your problem, not Ebays or sellers.  If you know it was left there then disappeared,  why didnt you rescue it before it disappeared.

Talk to Australia Post or whoever the delivery service was and ask them not to leave it where it can disappear,

The seller's job is to pst the item asap after you purchase, to post the item  in the condition advertised and to provide a tracking number for your item, if possible.

Obviously, the seller has done his bit as you know the item has been delivered.

If I were you, I'd talk to Australia Post or whichever company delivered it as sometimes they have photographic proof of where it was left.

But if it's gone, it's gone. The seller did his job, the delivery company did its job, the loss is yours.

If you are expecting that ebay will arrange a refund for you or that the seller will post another one when there is proof of delivery of the first one, I think you will be disappointed. Getting onto ebay support specialists won't help. If your residence is not all that secure a location, maybe look at having something else in place for deliveries when you are not home.

From my point of view the seller is responsible for the package to be delivered SAFELY.

This means that if a seller advertises his product with free shippings, he should ensure it has that covered.

If you know they are going to leave the parcel in a safe plave (namely the front door, facing the street) you should probably pay the extra $2 and request a signature upon delivery.

The parcel also should have been insured and that's the seller's responsibility to sort out.

Obviously I checked everywhere... and no, I didn't think I was a great idea to take a day off work to wait for the delivery and make sure it wasn't left unattended...

If ebay can't support these sort of situations, which I'd assume are more common that someone might think, then what's the purpose of paying substantial fees as a seller?

It's pretty logical to me

Or a parcel locker, hubbed, click and collect,  or provide a designated safe drop location.  If the item has been stolen from your address, contact your local police.

The seller is responsible to get the item posted (Australian law) or delivered (eBay policy) to you.

Your lack of ability to be home when the item arrives is nothing to do with eBay or the seller.

The fact that you know it was delivered shows that the seller used tracking. Which has insurance included, but not after delivery.

Your beef is with the carrier. Neither the seller nor eBay has any say after the item has been delivered. There is no need or point in contacting eBay or the seller.

You get the choice of either leaving in a safe place or being taken to the local PO if no-one is home - use it.

That is entirely up to you not eBay or the seller.

You also agreed on purchase to the seller's terms of posting - did you ask for Insurance if it was not offered in the postage method ??

No the seller is NOT responsible for it being delivery safely

Not remotely, not in the slightest  not in any way, shape or form

Also NOT the responsibility to insure anything

Did YOU request and PAY for insurance?

No?

Pretty logical the only thing here is a totally  unreasonable buyer
