How to remove "Unpaid Item" ?

A seller falsely claimed an item was locally available. Based on this I purchased it at a higher price. The seller then contacts me and says they have "run out", but can send from overseas. Nice trick to get a higher price but still send from overseas. The seller agreed to refund the money. Now I am stuck with an "Unpaid Item" on my home screen. How can I remove this? Thanks

Re: How to remove "Unpaid Item" ?

90 days before it automatically archives.

Why can't you just archive (hide) it yourself?

Re: How to remove "Unpaid Item" ?

I have hidden it but because I was refunded it shows as Item upaid it is just a quirk I can not log in and have an unpaid item without paying it as it would drive me crazy. I suffer from OCD did not think it would ever be a problem on Ebay as it just meant I paid as soon as I won any item but until this goes away I want be able to log without going crazy. Guess I will have to get my onlibe shopping fix elsewhere for 3 months 😞

You should be able to hide the unpaid item so that you cannot see it at all.

I have an unpaid invoice.....I clicked on Hide in my Purchase History and my Summary page and it is no longer visible.

I will now have to go and find it to pay before I forget.

Firstly, I feel for you on the OCD thing.  There are aspects of my everyday life that I consider to be a little OCD in nature, but it mainly relates to having to have things lined up on tables and desks.  When I am at Woollies I even tidy up their everyday rewards brochures at the checkout while waiting for my items to be scanned.  I straighten up the takeaway menus at the Chinese restaurant or Pizza shop.  I need help!  LOL

May I suggest that you start a new ID and not log into the other ID for three months.  Alternatively, if you are only talking about a few dollars, seeing as the SD card is fake and most probably cheap, then why not message the seller and tell them you are going to pay for it anyway.  Consider it a cheap prescription filler to alleviate your OCD and let you continue to use eBay.

Re: How to remove "Unpaid Item" ?

Even though it's now showing as unpaid because of the refund, the dodgy seller can't open an unpaid item dispute against you so it won't affect your ability to buy at all. It's actually 60 days until it automatically archives so not as long!

I'm a little OCD with eBay too. I always leave feedback as soon as I receive my items. Even though I know I've left the feedback, I will still refresh the page so the feedback left icons have highlighted. Sometimes the last one left doesn't highlight with the refresh so I'll keep refreshing until it shows. Only then will I atchive, or hide as it's called now.

When I put the stamps on an item I've sold,  the stamps have to be straight and right next to each other. One time I had run out and the PO put the stamps on and they were crooked. It made me jittery and my eyes started twitching. I wanted to rip them off and put them on straight!

My stamp OCD used to be that I would always put them on upside down, until someone told me that this is not allowed and I just stopped doing it.  I still put them on upside down every now and then.

When I open potato chip packets I always open them upside down, have done for more than 30 years!  If I open the pack and it is not opened upside down I can't bring myself to east the contents.  Crazy . . . I know.

catlovertony, you are not alone.

Absolutely silly idea archiving it, how does that cancel the unpaid item?? But surely youget a mark against you anyway?

If you read the post I was replying to the seller had refunded the amount.

As soon as a refund is given the item goes back to Unpaid status.  If you don't want to see the item awaiting payment then the easiest thing is to hide/archive it.

The seller cannot open an unpaid item dispute and cannot give the buyer a strike.

I  had a packet of cheese and bacon balls at work last night and wished that it was you sitting near me and not my colleagues. The top of the packet was open and everyone just helped themselves! I nearly opened them from the bottom to see if they tasted any better 😛
