I was over charged for postage what do I do ? I have emailed the seller with no reply.

The seller charged me 8.25 for post when item arrived it had 2.10 on the envelope! I have emailed the seller without luck. Do I leave negative feedback?

So the seller SELF INSURED.

If the item got lost (no tracking) they would have had to replace the item... (or give a refund...).

This is partly why I like having an Australia Post business account. Allows me to use POSTAGE PAID AUSTRALIA stamp.

So they customer does not see the actual postage cost.

That's what I annoys me with parcels over the counter .. they put a sticker on saying $7 postage, but if you have paid for registered post and extra cover.. it does not show that pricing on the label.. and customer gets the wrong idea as well...

Now I need to get a POSTAGE PAID AUSTRALIA PRIORTY stamp (changes happening at Aus Post).

When purchasing on eBay, online stores etc.. if you are not happy with the total delivered price.. then do not buy...that is my policy when I shop.

Nah. Since they are charging % fee on the total value you now it will stop most sellers from inflating the postage component.

I list items on this account with fair postage costs, in some cases even below the cost it costs me.. yet my feedback shows I get hard for postage.

Yet on my main account, where I do the same (basically its postage price + envelopes or bubblewrap), I get 4.9/5.0

Could be the value of the item sold. $10 item with $4 overcharged on delivery looks like a rip off, $500 with the same $4 will get you 5 stars.

I really hate when the post office puts the postage price on the package. Buyers just automatically think that is the TOTAL cost of postage. I once sent something which was approx $8 postage (I had charged about $18), the buyer got angry at me and accused me of overcharging on postage. I had to tell them that postage insurance (which was about $6), signature on delivery ($3) and packaging ($3) is not included in that amount. This has happened to me more than once. I even refunded another buyer the excessive charges and they still dinged my stars. So now I just make it free so that there is no more complaining.

Yes, but if your LISTING showed the item as being charged X amount for Parcel Post, would you send it by parcel post like it says it would you just grab a plain envelope and whack a couple of stamps on it and hope the buyer doesn't notice? My concern is the sellers who lead the buyers to believe they are paying a higher amount for a particular service but then taking short cuts...
