If I'm asked to wait till a day after my request what do I do?

"Dear customer, Thank you for your message. Firstly, please accept our sincere apologies that you have not received your item yet. Your order was dispatched on the 10th June via Royal Mail Airmail, which is a non-tracked service. We are committed to providing the cheapest possible price for our customers and using this service allows us to provide free shipping on all orders. Orders will typically be delivered within 5-10 working days. However, we cannot account for the speed of the Royal Mail service and on occasion overseas delivery can take a little longer. Please note, Royal Mail will not classify this item as ‘lost’ until 20 working days have passed. We request that you contact us on the 8th July and we will of course take further action. We appreciate your frustration and thank you for your understanding. If you do wish to discuss the matter further, please do not hesitate to get in touch."

If the seller can't help resolve the problem by Jul. 7, just ask us to step in and help. We want to make things right for you.

They sound genuine, I'd wait.

The ebay message would lead me to think most people would not contact ebay till July 8th anyway as you were asked to wait till 7th for it to be resolved.I'm sure it would be okay to contact them on 8th or even a day or two later than that, but others here will be able to tell you exactly.

My experience with postage from England has varied. A scarf arrived in 5 days, faster than a Qld item.

Then my two daughters both sent sleeping bags home-same time, same post office (by the cheapest rate which I think was sea mail back then). One arrived about 3 weeks later, the other arrived 3 months later, after we had given up on it.

eBay allows (I think) a minimum of 3 days for the seller to respond and help you resolve the issue, so the date they've provided (7th July) is more of a time limit for the seller, but you actually have 30 days after opening a request to escalate it and get eBay to step in and help, so you've got a bit of time to continue communicating with the seller and get the issue resolved.

Thanks. You've cleared that up for me. Had figured I worded the thing badly. Guess that's problem solved.
